Would we get the accompanying abilities to those abilities. Such as if we picked super strength do we get enhanced durability with that so you not breaking your bones with the force of your hits. Or is it you get one ability with that weapon and nothing that accompanies it
All information is regarding handheld axes, not a huge one-handed axe or two-handed axe, since both of them would not be considered tools for combat. Yes a battle axe can be two-handed but the hammer is another two-handed weapon in this poll so im going to ASSUME that we’re talking about one-handed axes. Any other variant of the axe gets annihilated by almost every other option.
Axes are much heavier, but if you can master it then you’re pretty much unstoppable. The axe is undeniably more durable than any other weapon there excluding the great hammer, and produces the most force excluding the great hammer for every swing, so if it comes in contact with a katana or something, you can bet the axe is gonna come out on top.
The hammer is a non-issue since it’s so excruciatingly slow and top heavy.
Katana gets negged.
Spear gets chopped in half easier than a tree would.
Sword gets warped and broken in seconds.
A shield would either bend out of shape from the force or the user can simply go around the shield.
I would like the Dual Wield + Axe since it would allow for an easier block-and-attack moveset. The axe is not slow but is heavier than the others excluding the hammer, so it’s mostly used in wide chopping motions. If you are trained well with it, you will find it most effective to dodge attacks and then retaliate with a swing that will undoubtedly break someone else’s weapon apart.
This isn’t the best example, but look at Escanor from Seven Deadly Sins. He tanks everyone’s attacks or dodges them, and then retaliates with a single swing that kills his foe immediately.
Unlike the katana, which emphasizes attack speed and reaction time, the axe is about movement speed and strength. If you can disarm the katana user by breaking their weapon, it’s an auto-win. If you’re experienced in fighting, you’ll have the intuition/instinct necessary to dodge a katana user’s attacks.
It’s a bit of a stretch but if you can master doing battle with an axe, disarming an opponent will be a piece of cake and defense won’t matter since an axe specializes in breaking defense.
Sorry for typing so much but I can think of a couple of ways for a combatant wielding an axe can win, and honestly if we’re talking about someone who had Peak Human Combat or above, then it should be a walk in the park for the user.
Edit: yes i am aware that the katana specializes in speed, and it would make it hard for a user of a heavier weapon such as an axe to dodge, however the power you get from using the ace is Enhanced Durability so i would imagine that the katana wouldn’t be able to harm the user anyway.
I mean depending on how fast they’re talking u could have a few of these just with that power
Yes @Tdog0467 it is implied you get all the applications with your chosen power.
