Could a truly Omnipotent being bestow Omnipotence on another being (same scale/level) that isn't already Omnipotent? No, I'm not talking about Nigh Omnipotence Bestowal nor Meta Transcendence or even Complete Arsenal. I'm talking about The Omnipotence.
Okay, so who’s stronger? Omnipote #1, or Omnipote #2?
If they aren’t equal then does an Omnipote lose Omnipotence by using it to create a stronger Omnipote? Or can they just Not Do That, even though they can supposedly Do Anything?
Or are we on Omni-Creator, where all Omnipote’s are one and the same?
I say an Omnipote can create another Omnipote, or even a ‘stronger’ one, but it doesn’t matter because all of them are immeasurably ‘strong’. They just cancel out, and it’s as if niether is Omnipotent anymore, at least when dealing with eachother.
The second omnipotent being would be stronger. If an omnipotent deity created another omnipotent deity, then they’d have given up their own power since there can’t be two of them. But it’s a stupid question regardless since you can easily ask, “Can an omnipotent person give someone omnipotence while retaining their own power?” You’d technically have to say yes since they can, but no as well since there can’t be two. It’s a mind-fuck subject that has no definitive or correct answer since it’s all bullshit.
Think Type 2 Omnipotence. By true Omnipotence I don't refer to Absolute Omnipotence/Type 1 (A.K.A. there wouldn't be an Anti-God for example, since Absolute Omnipotence is Absolute)
If it's Type 1, I have to agree with everything you've said so far: Omnipotence can't be absolute if there is something capable of resisting it and the very question I made would become moot.
An example of multiple omnipotent beings (guess what, they're still getting the power that's ”Above-All” and yet they are Type 3) would be on Nobilis as mentioned by TV Tropes; Nobles have absolute and utter power over a single aspect of reality/concept/principle (Estate). Every extension of the concept they can think of is true.
(I personally don't understand how Specialized Omnipotence would not be Nigh-Omnipotence, but it's put there on the page, so...)
No matter how inconceivable it may be, Omnipotence can do it. Anything you can and can’t think of, Omnipotence can do it.
It can do absolutely anything. The point of Omnipotence is to be all powerful so I see no reason why you can’t bestow such power onto other people.
This causes a paradox, of course but being Omnipotent allows you to bypass absolutely anything, no exceptions, including paradoxes.
I agree. Why would a paradox stop an omnipotent being from doing what he/she/it wants? It really doesn't, like you mentioned.
I’m guessing the best it could grant is ultipotence or reliant omnipotence but they only be partially equal to omnipotence.
Well if that was the case then the being bestowing the power was never omnipotent in the first place
True Omnipotence is boundless. Whether there is one being or many, all would manifest the same Omnipotence, and the same boundlessness.
The distinction about "how long" a being has been Omnipotent would mean what is being discussed is not true limitless Omnipotence since there was a time before the being was Omnipotent.
With that sole distinction, a being who is and always has been and will be Omnipotent is "more powerful" than a being that ascends to the same rank of Omnipotence as the originator, But only due to the semiotics of Omnipotence.
From the point of view of a finite being observing all this, within their reference frame, if both Omnipotent beings pre-existed them and will exist after they die there is no difference from the perspective of that observer.
That's an interesting way to put it, though I don't agree with the "age of power" = "actual power". After all, Infinity divided even by itself is still infinite.
There cannot be two separate beings with omnipotence. If there were multiple beings, then they would fundamentally be the same being. Here's the note from the page.
(If there are many Omnipotent beings in the multiverse then they would fundamentally be the same being, representing the individuality of their respective universe and unity of the infinite cosmos of other realities.)
What do you think?
