Mental Casting: The ability to cast spells with your mind!
Comic dr strange doesn't need to say out the entities and it is not ridiculous, that's his way of expressing himself. In the 80's comics they made him dramatic, I guess that's where you're getting your sources from, in that time it was intentional that he would say almost everything ridiculous to use a spell, and even that he doesn't do it all the time. The more modern version still does but shows that's not the only way he invokes his entities and doesn't sound as dramatic or rediculous as he sounds before
When i say he's unrealistic, i didnt mean about him in general, i meant his powers. They arent real and have no connection to science
Well it wasn’t just the 80s comics it was the cartoon like hulk where monsters dwell or ultimate Spiderman (The Disney XD TV series, not the comic book).
that stuff may have been interesting in the 80s, but this is the 2020s, The modern era.
Yeah exactly and your puling things from wayyy back, the modern strange is different
Well believe what you want about him, but honestly either way the MCU version of the character is better (in storytelling at the very least, he’s probably not as powerful as his comic book counterpart, yet!)
The comic version has better back story and explanation, you should read the old comics of him, thats where the MCU version got them from.
And also here's a scene of dr strange using incantations and mostly gestures in a fight and besting a cosmic entity of Chaos and Order. The binding spell he used in the end is called the The Chains of Krakkan
Well I have Marvel unlimited, but I rarely ever use it.
If I were to just read the books and not do any research on them on marvel wiki or YouTube, which books do you think would be the best place to start.
Also I thought the inspiration for the Doctor Strange movie in 2016 was from the animated Doctor Strange film, I felt like they Borrowed a lot of elements from that movie, Especially a female doctor character who works with Dr. Stephen Strange, but tries to convince him to work on More people other than For his own personal gain Or one of the Ancient One’s students going rogue and joining Dormammu, (except in the MCU version, it was Kaicelius that went rogue Instead of Mordo, He just became disillusioned with the ancient one and decided that all sorcerers just by using magic, defied nature itself.) Also Stephen Strange Training with Mordo, and Wong having a more important role other than just being a servant. And there being a secret society of magical martial artists Who defend the world from extra dimensional entities that threaten it’s existence. I feel like the MCU Doctor Strange movie is exactly like the 2007 Animated film, Doctor Strange: The Sorcerer Supreme! The only real difference is that the MCU Version of the Eye of Agamotto being An infinity stone encased in an enchanted mechanical device & the 2007 Version of Doctor Strange having more than one Eye of Agamotto!!!
Yeah i think you're right, it had alot of things from the past comics i didnt like, especially Wong being a servant and all. But Yeah the animated series had some influence but they're starting the move from that, seeing that strange and mordo wont see eye to eye anymore
Yeah and the way Doctor Strange defeats Dormammu Is by using the Eye amulet, In the 2007 Film he channels all the magical energy of Dormammu Into the Eye, which slowly killed him (I have no idea how Doctor Strange survived absorbing all that energy into him), in the 2016 movie Doctor Strange uses the time stone Amulet to create an endless time loop Trapping both himself and dormammu in the same moment, The moment where Doctor Strange tries to make a bargain with him and he repeatedly kills the good doctor over and over and over Until Doctor Strange told him his bargain and promising the end of time loop which Is like torture for him because He exists outside of time and he doesn’t like it that experience when he first well experiences it.
Yup lol
What do you think?
