Decided to make an MHA/BNHA RP, so here we go.
Terms to Know:
Quirk: A quirk is basically a power that 80% of the population is born with. Regardless of how fantastic or odd a Quirk is, it's still a part of the user's body, so it can be trained and developed, and it will always have at least one limitation and one drawback.
Quirks come in three types:
Emitter (Usually revolve around creating, controlling, or enhancing in some way. Due to the incredibly wide range of capabilities, one of these can seem like one of the other types, but still have distinct differences.)
Transformation (Allow the user to augment their body in a specific way. Second easiest to distinguish, tend to have the least range, though that can vary.)
Mutant (Cause a permanent alteration to the user's body that can be used on its own. Easiest to distinguish.)
Since quirks tend to vary a lot, some can seem like a mix of different types or be seen as a subtype. However, no matter how odd the quirk, it's impossible for it to be more than one type. Even if it seems like it could be more than one, as long as its main function falls within one type, that's what it is.
For the sake of avoiding spoilers, a character can have multiple quirks, but only in a very specific situation. If you choose to have multiple quirks, then I'll explain what that situation is. Also, a character can have a quirk that's a combination of multiple quirks, thanks to genetics.
Heroes: Kinda obvious, but I might as well explain it. Basically, heroes are professionals that are legally allowed to (and paid to) save lives, defeat villains, and possibly get involved in side business stuff if they chose to (like having a clothing brand based after them or something.) They can vary a lot, as some focus on search and rescue, some are almost entirely combat focused, and some are more support based. It depends on their quirk and field of expertise.
Villains: Also obvious. Basically any kind of criminal who uses their quirk to do something illegal. They can be anything, from low-level thugs to gangsters or even terrorists. They vary just as widely as heroes, if not even more. Several groups of them exist in canon, so if you wanna join one of those groups (or wanna make your own) then feel free to.
Vigilantes: People who do heroic things without actually being registered heroes, adhering to quirk restriction laws, etc. No matter how kind or respected a vigilante is, vigilantism's still illegal.
Hero Office: Usually agencies that employ different heroes and sidekicks. It's pretty common for individual heroes to have their own, which they use as a base of operations.
Quirkless: Anyone who's quirkless is basically powerless. They're the 20% of the population born without a quirk. There are some special situations where someone quirkless can get a quirk, but they're spoilers so I won't mention them right here.
Super Move: Also self-explanatory. Almost all heroes (and some villains and vigilantes) have different moves they can do with their quirk, so if you're interested, you can feel free to come up with some.
Provisional Hero License: It's kinda like a driver's license, but for becoming a hero. You need to have one if you wanna become a professional hero, otherwise you'll end up being a vigilante. If you decide to be a student and wanna get one, I'll explain the test required for it. Once you have one, you'll be able to legally save lives and defeat villains without the supervision of a pro hero.
Costume: Also self-explanatory. Heroes and villains wear them, and aside from looking cool, costumes can also be used to enhance someone's quirk in some way, limit the drawbacks or weaknesses, or compensate for their quirk. Heroes get costumes by default thanks to the processes involved with becoming a hero, meanwhile villains get them through illegal means.
Those are the most important terms, but I'll explain one more thing. Most of the time (as in depending on how harmless your quirk is), using your quirk in public is illegal. Unless you're a pro hero (or don't care about the law), you can only use your quirk (unless it's harmless) either to defend yourself or someone else.

If you have any questions or ideas, feel free to let me know. Also, you don't have to copy and paste the explanations I put next to stuff on the character template.
And for the sake of being sure, nothing OP, Omni, Meta, Absolute, Transcendent, Ascendent, etc. Even the strongest people in MHA aren't god level or anything, so while you can make a powerful character, don't try to make something that figuratively or literally breaks the established rules of the setting. Also there's no magic in MHA either. Some quirks may seem like magic, but they're not.
