Like in many stories classified as ''Isekai'', there's a world of sword and sorcery, where humanity is being threatened by a ''Dark Overlord'' (Isn't confirmed if it's a demon or something else), who plans on conquering that world with his army of darkness. As their heroes and mages failed, the human kingdoms use an ancient summoning ritual to call strong individuals from other worlds (Who are dubbed as ''Heroes''), which includes you. Apparently, you had a secret potential within your soul and due to the mundane condition of our world, it couldn't be awakened, until you were brought to a world where the natural laws can be bended with magic (Up to a certain limit).
Like others summoned alongside you, that potential is manifested as a ''Unique Skill'', which is molded by your inner desires. For example, someone who wishes to travel, would end up with a Teleportation Skill, while someone who wishes to control others gains a Brainwashing Skill. As the name suggests, these skills are very powerful and not only increase the user's resistance towards mental and spiritual attacks, but cannot be forcefully turned off or stolen. However, if the original user willingly gives it to another, then one can gain another Unique Skill. Besides your unique skill, not only your body is remolded to a healthier state, but you also gain several minor skills and traits:
Translation: Anyone who hears a you, they will hear you speak their native language and the same will happen for you. However, it doesn't allow one to learn how to read or write in those languages.
Disease Resistance: You'll become immune to the diseases of the new world, as well diseases from Earth.
Mana Veins: Like those born with magic, you can harness mana out of the enviroment through your body and cast it as spells beloning to a type of magic.
Apart from skills, you'll receive a ''Status Card'' like the one adventurers use, which showcases your current condition, job and abilities, as well the five major attributes of Strength, Endurance, Vitality, Agility and Magic Power (Which increase as you defeat monsters and similar beings). To give you an example of a Unique Skill, mine would be called Wuxia (武俠, meaning "martial heroes"), a skill that transforms the user into a powerful melee fighter adept to the martial arts. As for its abilities...
Physical Increase: The user's strength, speed, resilience and other physical-based statistics are heavily increased in power to superhuman levels.
Sixth Sense: The user's ''danger sense'' is amplified, allowing it to sense incoming/hidden threats within a certain range (Including detecting illusions).
Weak Point Detection: The user can find the pressure/weak points of a target (Visualizing them as bright dots over the points' locations) and strike them to deliver great damage, usually paralyze or kill them in one strike.
What about you? What is your Unique Skill? Will you be a hero? Or perhaps join the dark overlord?
Extra: This world is very similar to the ''Standard Fantasy World'' in Isekai media. Basically, an anachronistic medieval society where most magic isn't deemed as demonic (Except for Dark Magic) and since monsters are a real threat, Adventurer Guilds deal with them for the right price. This world is inhabited by Humans, Monsters, Spirits, Demons and Deities, with monsters encompassing creatures like Orcs, Goblins, Slimes, Manticores, Minotaurs, Gryphons, Basilisks, Dragons and Undead (From mindless Zombies to the powerful Lich).
Usually, most monsters are exterminated, but not all are inherently violent and can be potentially tamed, mainly by ''Beastmasters'', a type of adventurers that deal with monsters in a less bloody way. Besides adventurers, monsters can be purchased as exotic pets, research material (Being the origin of Chimeras) and even for private battle games. Although monsters can live in many environments, many will make their nests in ''Dungeons'', which are the ruins of a powerful ancient civilization that even the gods feared and were destroyed during the ''Age of Legends''. In fact, thanks to the ''treasures'' left by this civilization, it explains how this ''medieval'' world has things like better sanitation, alphabetization and even some things like electric lighting and working toilets.
As aformentioned, usually magic is something one must be born with, but through special methods (Like ancient rituals, exotic potions or rare magical items) is possible to gain it. There's also limits for magic, like being unnable to change the past, copies of objects turn to dust the next day (Preventing mages to easily become rich) and only the gods or those who channel their power can bring back the dead (Others will just create undead), with each individual having one revival and their next death shall be permanent.
