Lots of extra variables here, but if i were to guess, it would just make your magical biotech into a magical synthetic biotech. Perhaps the main advantage would be that it might not have a will of it's own?

Oh thats my bad. I read Sym as Syn, which meant synthetic. I cant think of any upgrades with this asses other than a stronger armor perhaps?
