I've been trying to come up with ideas for a new RP, but aside from two of them, part of the reason they don't feel very interesting to me is because they lack unique power systems. Right now, ideas and suggestions would be appreciated.

I usually try to go for more action oriented stuff, so I'm keeping that in mind.
Its funny. I am watching Pokémon Trainer Classes explained at the Pokestar Studio Section and have a crazy idea. Actors who fight each other in movies using "Theatrical" or Entertainment-based abilities in order to get top-billing. And when I mean "in movies," I mean on set while the cameras are rolling. Kind of strategic battle of wits with abilities that improve the user's performance or make others' worst.
Just a thought.
Sounds interesting, not sure if I could pull it off though. Closest I could try is maybe something like that but with the kayfabe aspect of wrestling, but even that's kind of a stretch for me.
It's just an idea while watching a Youtube video. What also helps is finding a central theme or mechanic for your power system.
With Folkloric Fates Power System, I based it on Aarne–Thompson–Uther Index but change a word within a title with something the reflects the user and Chosen Métier are skills with mode switching.
The main theme/mechanic I had in mind for Weight of Words was wordplay, and for CoTS it's martial arts. Haven't managed to think of a new one to try something based on yet.
I am sure you will find a power system that fits you and the world you will craft (or maybe the power system will craft your world like most of mine did.)
Anyway, I am going out to take my friend to his job now.
Alright. Weight of Words started because I wanted to try powers based on words and ended up building a world around it, plus I wanted to make an OC that controls paper. Hopefully I'll find a new idea interesting enough to build a world around.
Might try something based on swordsmanship, as long as I can find a way to avoid making it feel too close to Demon Slayer
Oh man, I thought about this 5 minutes after I left, and you said you want your character to control paper—a power system based on Arts and Crafts. The users are kids whose parents are supernatural beings, and their unstable, still-developing powers become Craft Tricks. Its Rugrats meet Naruto, and you OC could use Papier-mâché based abilities.
That was before I made Weight of Words. I made a character that turned the ability to create and control paper into something surprisingly powerful. Even for individual OCs, I haven't found a power idea interesting enough.
What do you think?
