I think that would depend on what kind of elements are used and how they play off their strengths and weaknesses. Like maybe if you used fire and air, you could use air to draw oxygen and enhance pyrokinetic attacks or with metal and electricity, one might be able to unleash electrical power better due to the metal's conductivity(depends on the kind of metal's conductivity and that sounds a little BS-y to me but I'll hopefully come up with a better idea later)
