Rune Magic
Rune Magic is the “basic” form of Magic. Runes are used by drawing out the shape of a rune in the air or onto an object. These symbols, in their fundamental form, are powerful enough to create and manipulate the elements and nature itself. If runes are inscribed into an object, the runes can be cast repeatedly and consistently. Normally, the longer the series of Runes, the stronger the spell.
World-Tree Vigor
World-Tree Vigor is a special form of magic derived from consuming any piece of The World Tree, or from the many trees tied to it, most commonly the sap. Every individual has a unique “Vigor Ability,” tied to the runes that spell out their name. This ability can be next to anything, and can have a wide variety of uses.
Innate Magic
The majority of Elves, Dwarves, Giants, and many other alien species have access to innate magic, those magics being practiced as if they were martial arts. Depending on the type of Elf, Dwarf, Giant, or other, the type of magic will vary.
Feylight
A unique blessing bestowed onto the few, primarily onto Elves, allowing them to tap into the unique power of The Fey. Those who possess Feylight have a unique Elvish Rune birthmark somewhere on their body and pale, nearly glowing eyes. Users of Feylight can generate and manipulate 3 unique types of light. The first type of light, Glowlight, is effectively concentrated sunlight, able to blind, and in strong enough concentrations, burn, whatever it’s pointed at. The second type of light, Highlight, does no physical damage, but has both hallucinogenic and amnistetic properties, able to nonlethally knock people out in high enough concentrations. The third type of light, Starlight, inverses the properties of whatever it touches (Ex; If it’s heavy, it’s now light.)
Alchemy
The Norse Gods were masters of brewing all kinds of Mead and Ale, with that tradition carrying on in their wake. These special, godly brews had no effect on their intended audience, but they bestow unique properties onto the mortals that consume them. There are dozens and dozens of different recipes, yet these are some of the most well known brews:
The Queen’s Cider
A special drink made from the juice of Idunn’s Golden Apples and the tears of all remaining Norse Gods. This incredibly rare cider bestows godlike immortality and an incredible healing factor on all those who drink it, their eyes and blood turning gold as their skin gains a metallic tint. On top of the regeneration, the golden blood of the now pseudo-divine being has incredible healing properties. This brew is exceptionally rare, with only one known bottle in existence.
Giantblood Mead
A drink made of the finest of berries combined with giant’s blood. Whoever drinks of this mead has giant-like strength until it leaves their immune system.
Strong Summer’s Cider
A drink made of special berries and special leaves only grown in Frey’s old palace. This drink gives the drinker accesss to a weakened form of Feylight that can only manipulate Glowlight. This effect lasts until the drink leaves the drinker’s system.
All Hallow’s Mead
A special Mead made from rare berries only ripe on Halloween every year. This drink transforms the drinker into a ghastly werewolf. This effect wears off when the Sun comes up, or when the drink leaves the drinker’s system. It is both very rare and highly addictive
Stormmarow
StormMarow is a blessing bestowed onto the few, similar to Feylight. It is more likely for Giants to have StormMarow than anyone else. Those with StormMarow have tattoos of storm runes, with a tattoo of Mjolnir placed upon their back, alongside nearly glowing blue eyes. They are far larger than normal members of their species, and far stronger. People with StormMarow can manipulate lightning, alongside having super strength, speed, and durability.
Blessed Artifacts
The Gods have left behind a wide variety of incredibly powerful artifacts, infused with a portion of their power. Those who wield these artifacts wield the power of these Gods. These fragments of the divine have wills of their own, however, and are incredibly difficult to control.
Divine Precedence
The Gods are dead, yes, but other beings must fill their roles. If an individual is advantageous and skilled enough, they can inherit a fraction of a God’s power, becoming a “New God,” part of a new pantheon filling the place of the Norse Gods
Godly Power
Those who are spawned by the Gods are the only ones with unique, distinct, complete godly powers. They are few and far between, yet are exceptionally strong. The few remaining Norse Gods and the Gods from other pantheons also wield this exceptional, reality-altering powers.
