Imagine if a wizard were to get their hands on a science book that explained the nuclear physics of fission and a few rods of uranium, what do you think would happen with that kind of potential energy and that kind of knowledge if applied with magic?

Nuclear Wizard need absorb a lot radiation to make magical "fuel" which will use for nuclear spells which involve weak and strong forces. To manipulate radiation will be less problem bc radiation is kinda ambient energy around, harder will be with trasmutation of elements. Nuclear wizard unique skill can be of absorbing and keep a lot more energy than normal wizard but also his more special spells will require more magical energy than any other spell.

What if… two things:

The Wizard converts mana from the electric energies generated from Nuclear Fission (the decay of atomic metals) instead of channeling ambient radiation?

The Magical Energies produced by converting nuclear energies/radiation is used in non-nuclear spells and/or by other wizards?

I think that would require high-level Magitek to harness the power of the sun. For now let’s just stick to nuclear fuel rods of uranium.

Your Both ideas are about energy conversion of magic power/nuclear power. To get uranium rods you need dig deep in ground. the purpose of nuclear reaction in reactors is to make great amount of heat which coverted to electricity. My first thought was a certain wizard king who used nuclear fusion as a power source by converting the energy into mana, practically granting him a near limitless amount of magic.

Oh hey, something similar but with fission instead. I'd say they would get alot of mana depending on the output.

Mmm, if a wizard were to get their hands on a book that explains the nuclear physics of fission and a few rods of uranium, they would probably be confused and get cancer if the rods weren't encased or sealed to prevent radiation leakage.

Unless they have an idea on what the book is about or some basic knowledge on nuclear physics, they would be confused for a bit while being interested in both the book and rods.

Since they got magic, it wouldn't take too long for them to grab a bunch of books and delve deeper to expand their understanding of nuclear fission. It depends on what the wizard is capable of, whether they are a low tier or a high tier.

But this might be wrong, im just basing off from what I remember or currently understand
