How powerful is Pathifery? And what would happen if a user either had Absolute Emotions or Mindshifting?
It's pretty powerful, a subconscious aspect of reality warping. It would develop into mentalfry (sp?)
@SuperPimp80 Can you elaborate, please?
As I understand it, pathifery can evolve to mentifery. So if someone gained conscious control over pathifery they could become very powerful. Capable of whatever Franklin Richards can do.
But I think @AzQth would be more suited to answer this.
@SuperPimp80 A lot of Reality Warping powers can evolve into Mentifery, it seems. Like Psycho Warping. But alright.
Pathifery is essentially reality warping based on emotions. For example, feeling angry might literally cause fire to erupt everywhere, or the focus of the user's anger to be annihilated. Conversely, feeling happy might, for example, genuinely make the world a better place. Or one emotion could have different effects - for example, feeling lonely might literally isolate the user from the world, or it might manifest a companion for the user. It would likely vary based on the user, or even just the particular situation.
I think the main situations where it could be considered that Pathifery 'evolves' into Mentifery is where it was already Mentifery on some level, the user just had no conscious control over it. Instead, their reality warping was operating entirely off of the user's subconscious and emotions, rather than conscious direction. It can then become Mentifery over time as the user learns to direct their power consciously, thus warping reality via their mind as a whole, rather than just the emotional aspect of it.
@AzQth I understand. :) So, if we focus purely on the emotional aspect, where would Absolute Pathifery end up at?
Absolutely anything and everything could change based entirely on the user's emotions. They could end up doing things like... let's use the first example I gave before - if they're angry at someone or something, they could end up erasing every version of that person or thing across all timelines/realities, likely without even realising it.
The entirety of totality would revolve around the user's feelings, changing on a dime in response to their emotions.
@AzQth Very interesting! Would that be Reality Dreaming or something similar? I ask because of this. "To the users, reality is but a dream they are having. All aspects of reality are brought about by their subconscious desires and emotions, including their current self, and evolve according to these shifting currents."
I would say that it isn't, but it's very close. Dreams aren't necessarily entirely based on our emotions, but our emotions do play a big role in it.
In this case, the user isn't dreaming reality - rather, their emotions are imposing themselves onto an external reality. The subconscious aspect of this power would make it comparable to Reality Dreaming, but I think its nature is somewhat different.
@AzQth The page makes it seem like the user doesn't necessarily have to be dreaming reality but it is like a dream to them. If you are willing to, can you expand on the Absolute version of Pathifery? The subconscious desires and emotions affecting reality at such a grand scale confused me, because that seems like Pathifery's deal rather than the final form of Oneiric Reality Manipulation. And you mentioned totality. So Absolute-level Pathifery can manipulate things beyond reality, like the void?
What do you think?
