Why does Absolute Psionics have Omni-Manipulation, @AzQth ?
Why does Absolute Psionics have Omni-Manipulation, @AzQth ?
Hmm... I would say probably not. Neutralize their ability to wield it, perhaps, but not neutralize the raw psionic power itself. I feel like the absolute nature of the raw power would make it incredibly difficult to suppress or neutralize, since 'absolute' seems (in this case) to refer to it as being totally unlimited.
@AzQth How could they neutralize their ability to use it?
I suppose it depends how integrated the absolute raw psionic power is with them. If it's like an energy/power source they're drawing from, then either severing the connection or suppressing/neutralizing their mind would probably do it. If it's directly a part of them, then it becomes more difficult because suppressing their mind becomes not so different from suppressing their power.
@AzQth If it's an integral part of them, it becomes more difficult to suppress?
Yeah, I'd say so.
I mean, if it's an external power source, then their mind is essentially taking as much as it needs or can handle at any given moment (I think this is something we've discussed before), so a sufficient application of power outweighing what it has at that moment could suppress it and prevent it from taking in more power.
On the other hand, if their absolute raw psionic power is an integral part of their mind, then it's just there, in their mind. Sure, they might not be using it all at any given moment, likely because they don't know how to do so or don't know that they have so much power, but it's still there. So trying to suppress their mind naturally entails contending against that boundless level of raw power, which would probably be next to impossible to actually overcome.
@AzQth I understand. Would the same be true for Mentifery or different?
Well, Mentifery is reality warping via the mind, which includes the subconscious. It's not unreasonable to suggest that the user's mind would instinctively react to a threat trying to neutralize its power or mind and negate it. Especially since a sufficient level of Mentifery could affect time, and even logic, to make this easier (otherwise it's possible that instantly neutralizing them could do it, since if their mind doesn't have time to react to the neutralization attempt then it can't reasonably negate it).
@AzQth That's interesting! I wonder how their subconscious mind affects reality.
It would probably be stuff like warping of reality based on things like emotions and desires without conscious input from the user.
@AzQth True. How could someone even control Mentifery?
What do you think?
