Cybergear
Cybergear are strange, mysterious pieces of hyper-advanced alien technology. They are powered by “Stardust,” a strange material found at the core of a newly born star, harvested over the course of its life, turned into a battery and installed into the Cybergear. A single Stardust battery can power a piece of Cybergear long after the death of Earth.
Cybergear is normally physically attached to somebody’s body, appearing as a piece of armor or a piece of jewelry. Once attached, it is more likely than not to be permanent.
All pieces of Cybergear grant 3 distinct abilities with a variety of applications, falling into one of these categories:
-Electromagnetic Abilities
-Magnetic Abilities
-Electricity Manipulation Abilities
-Energy Generation Abilities
-Energy Manipulation Abilities
-Energy Transformation Abilities
-Technopathic Abilities
These abilities are specialized, not encompassing but instead falling into one of these ability types.
Awakened Evolution
Awakened Evolutions are something that have existed since the start of sentient life on Earth. In old legends, heroes were blessed with great powers by the spirit of the Earth herself. Today, this can be explained by the “Stardust Mutation Property.” Earth itself has been confirmed to have an extreme amount of “Dormant” Stardust at the center of its core, not letting off the extreme amounts of energy it normally does. Whenever the Earth itself comes under threat, though, this Stardust awakens, and causes random sentient lifeforms on Earth to mutate.
These mutations are Evolutions in nature, but are called Awakenings, hence the name. They are called Awakenings because of the abilities they grant.
Awakened Evolutions “awakens” a person’s body, mind, or soul, enhancing them dramatically.
Body Awakenings
If one’s body is awakened, their physical abilities are dramatically enhanced in some way. This can range from a straight up enhancement of characteristics (Enhanced Condition) to a change in physiology, incorporating some other element or aspect of the world (Other forms of Enhanced Condition) (Caps out at Enhanced Condition/Grade 2).
Mind Awakenings
If one’s mind is awakened, their intellect increases dramatically. This normally grants some form of Telekinetic, Psychokinetic, or Technopathic ability alongside the general ability to read minds (Caps out at Enhanced Intelligence).
Soul Awakenings
If one’s soul is awakened, they gain the ability to speak with animals and manipulate some piece of nature. Normally, this means manipulating a type of plant or animal. Very rarely, this manifests as Elemental Manipulation.
Species-Based Abilities (+ Example Species)
Some species come from planets with conditions vastly different from Earth, evolving to develop strange and wondrous abilities. Here are some example Species and affiliated powers. It is recommended you make your own species, but feel free to use these.
Edenians - Object Assimilation
Edenians are large parasites from the planet Invinium-7, generally the size of a golden retriever, who normally take a recently dead, almost dead, or willing living Host. They physically expand and absorb the host, before molding to and mutating the body into an alien-like form. This form can shift back into the base species of their Host, only the eyes being clearly Edenian in this state. Alongside this cloaking technique, Edenians can absorb objects into themselves, able to manifest them as bio-organic weapons.
Agoli - Gravitational Manipulation
The Agoli are humanoid-esque creatures from the planet Silva-B4, or as they call it, “Agorila.” They look generally similar to androgynous humans, with distinct purple flesh, large pointed ears, and cat-like legs, alongside a large alamander-like tail, and glowing eyes with no pupils or irises. By singing certain ancient hymns, the Agoli can manipulate Gravity, each hymn associated with a different type of manipulation.
Bapharians - Partial Shapeshifting
Bapharians are from the planet Aestus-8, colloquially known as “Infernium.” They appear similar to the old human myth, Baphomet, yet they are entirely silver and seemingly made of goo. When they arrive on a planet, a Bapharian can choose to take a more material form, the goo becoming anything from flesh to fur to bone to exoskeleton to steel. The only part of their body shape that can fully shift is their skull, but their prominent horns will always remain.

Fun Facts:
Main Setting: Centurion City
This story generally takes place in the HQ of Team 22, Centurion City. It began as an exceptionally large military base, within a strange, hyper-advanced dome that controls the climate. Over time, a small town formed around the base, eventually growing into a bustling metropolis. All members of Team 22 live within this Military Base, known as “The Nest.” The vast majority do not originate from Centurion City, though.
Mecha Functionality
Each of the 22 Machines has the form of a Vehicle or Animal of some kind. Each country that sponsored a Mecha got to control the theming of that specific piece of the overall puzzle. Be creative with it.
Clarifications
Can Non-Humans be Pilots?
Yes.
Can Non-Humans get Awakenings?
Yes. As long as they are as/more intelligent as a human, and live on Earth, they can get an Awakening
How do Aliens Work in Society?
Just like everyone else. Aliens do have equal rights, but anti-alien sentiments are still strong.
How Strong is The Presence of Alien culture?
Very strong. The presence of alien cultures and philosophies have spurred on what some would call a second renaissance, and created another Great Awakening due to the presence of alien religions.
How Large is Centurion City?
It's the size of an entire island. It is a shining cyberpunk metropolis.
Do all Characters have to be Pilots/Engineers/Directors?
No. You can have characters that just live in the city. They have to have some form of relationship to Team 22 though.
Is Team 22 the only Military Squadron in The NEST
No. Other teams that serve similar roles, such as Anti-Hellbug ground troops, R&D Departments for both new Mecha Weapons and other gadgets, and a wide variety of other types of soldiers live in the NEST.
Are all Team 22 Missions in the Mechs?
No. Most involve at least some of them, but Team 22 is also highly competent on the Ground.
