Venom, with retractible serpent fangs. No accidentally petrifying people. They only get it when I think they really have it coming.

Entirely depends on how much control I would have over it and whether it reverses given time.

If I have total control over it and it reverses with time, then gaze. Otherwise, venom with retractible fangs, same as @Two-of-Six. I have no desire to accidentally petrify people.
