How to make a female protagonist? I need help

NOTE: The problem is NOT the character's gender, it's more that I wasn't prepared for this unplanned situation. Now my mind is in chaos trying to fit the character in.

I'm having a problem with the female protagonist. She was in the hands of a friend who was writing the story with me. The problem is that she left the project due to family problems and college.

This ended up causing the protagonist she was developing to fall into my hands. I have a LOT of ideas, but I don't know which ones to use for her and I'm very unsure about which path to take. I don't want to get rid of her because of my friend and I wanted to continue what she did. I managed to finish the male protagonist (especially after the Total Mimicry thing). He reminds me of Dale Cooper and Fox Mulder.

Can anyone help me or give me an opinion on some ideas I had about her?

Watch any shows that have a brave main character lady like Twlight Of The Gods or JBA Stone Ocean and Arcane

I've seen a few of these, especially Stone Ocean (I'm a big JoJo fan). The thing is how to create a good dynamic and chemistry with the male lead, you know? But I'm still undecided about a lot of things. Appearance, personality, backstory...

Dont focus on the female part, make a character first make them female second, focusing on being female would waste the character so give them their identity and then like add female elements to the character later

There shouldn't be any difference with how you write a male or female character
