This is Sherlock from the bbc show, which takes place around 2010-2017 and light picks the death note up in 2003(if the death note wiki timeline is correct) so there’s not much difference between the start of Ls investigation and Sherlock’s knowledge of the era

L is actually dumb, but I bet Sherlock would actually try to gather some evidence and attempt to convince the others why Light is Kira to help him in the investigations.

But that depends, if Sherlock Holmes makes that public as L did, since L planned it that way, but Sherlock could always do it that his involvement in the work is privately unknown.

Problem is that’s just not his M.O. Unless it’s common knowledge that L has the death note that works through knowing names, he has no reason to hide his identity. That being said, there are some ‘takes’ of the character where the name ‘sherlock’ is not his actual name, so depending on the circumstance i can easily switch my position.

Well that largely depended on the case. But the BBC Sherlock was a celebrity regardless, so literally everybody knew his name
