Mecha Wearing

How can you "wear a mech like a suit of armor"? I understand that in some cases it mimics the "wearer's" bodily movements like one, but how do you explain the ones that seem to have a cockpit that makes up most of the chest with the pilot's head having a dedicated helmet like MCU's Iron Monger armor or Davros' power armor from DOOM Eternal?

Kaiju are invading and for some reason, we decided on mechs to combat them. For the obvious reason that it's incredibly cool. And congratulations, you have the top tier of compatibility with the mech's A.I. so, you're a now a pilot. One was designed with your style in mind.
