I have a new idea for Vampires and I want to see what you guys think of it.
What I imagine for my version, Vampires will be sourced from the Blood Shade Painter; the Demigod of Infection, Crimson of Atelier Coloré as well as Bloodline of the Tree of Life Association; the Demigod of Lineage. All True Vampires have what is called a mutated form of a Blood Shade Virus. Which is, contagious and far more deadly than a normal virus. Any organism infected with it turn into a sort of deep red sludge; hence the name Blood Shade. But if you manage to contract specific strain of the virus modified by Bloodline in collaboration with Crimson, the virus is duly dubbed the Scarlet Blood Virus, and it will turn anyone who is infected with it into a vampire.
The virus enhances the blood of the infected, transforming them entirely. Their blood, that which used to be human, become almost scarlet in colour. Their flesh becomes more pronounced, gaining stronger musculature, shedding away any blemish and impurities.
Unlike vampires from myths they are not weak to sunlight, do not die from staking of the heart, and can enter homes without permission and are not weak to garlic. They also have shadows, reflections and souls.
On the contrary; Scarlet Changed Vampires are able to go out into the sunlight. But they prefer not to as under the influence of the sun and heat, they start to switch over to their Diurnal State. The Scarlet Changed has two distinct states; Diurnal and Nocturnal. Their normal vampiric state is under the influence of darkness, the moon and stars. Whereas Diurnal State reflects the warm sun and bright sky. Diurnal State changes them into Light Eaters; oft fixating on a certain thing, whether it be art or music or even a person. Nocturnal State on the other hand, has the tendency to make them more enchanting and attractive. As Light Eaters, the Scarlet Changed primarily are able to access extra abilities outside of their Nocturnal State. Whilst Nocturnal State focuses on the power of their flesh and blood, Diurnal State makes use of their more mystical gifts.
They are primarily immortal, however they can be killed. To do so, a Scarlet Changed must be deprived of the Blood Shade in their veins. This can be done by burning it away with flames, or by injecting hot oil into their veins. They stay eternally youthful, but they can indeed age. They can use the mystical powers in their blood to sacrifice some of their time for more powers. This can make them look younger or older at their own discretion.
A Scarlet Changed Vampire can have a normal diet like a human would, however like how a vampire is depicted; they can drink blood. But normally their diet consists of ‘red.’ They consume anything that is coloured red, as a side effect of the Blood Shade in their veins. Consuming red from an object renders said object to become clear like glass until it evaporates. This does not apply to organic lifeforms such as a human, as instead a vampire would consume the scarlet aura in a human’s blood, draining their lifespan instead as well as their blood. A Scarlet Changed can secrete a healing saliva from a gland in their mouths to heal wounds. This makes them perfectly suited for feasting in the night without humans realising it. When in Diurnal State, a Light Eater Vampire aptly does as the name suggests. They are able to magically photosynthesise sunlight into energy.
