What the difference between symbol magic, emblem magic, rune magic and paper charm magic is?

It's part of a thing I'm doing. I'm asking if anybody had any ideas for methods of gaining powers and what to call them (or better ideas)

Are sirens considered nymphs, mermaids, both or neither?

It's not like the omnitrix where you can transform into a different being. So no Physiology/Mimicry/Form powers.
