Hi. It's been awhile since I have been here.
Sorry, this will be a very messy post because I'm extremely confused, not to mention that it's past midnight here right now.
So, title.
For those who doesn't know, "Death of the Author" in this context isn't supposed to be taken literally but rather, it has something to do with separating the author from the piece of literature or art that they made, potentially disregarding author's authority (that being intentions, statements or interpretations) in the process.
Recently, this term has picked popularity because of J.K. Rowling and her transphobic behaviour on Twitter and the medias but that's irrelevant to the topic.
So my question are these: in what circumstances are we really talking about it being at play here? Interviews and similar stuff?
If "Death of the Author" is active, how exactly does this affect stuff like superpowers and abilities?
Would "Death if the Author" be some sort of a Writer Indused Stupidity type of thing in this case or what?
How can you really separate Author's intentions/interpretation from any fictional character's own interpretation within any piece of fictional work?
And what about fictional debate stuff?
(The reason why I'm specifically asking for the fictional debate stuff is that I saw someone using the concept of "Death of the Author" in VSBattles. The debate involved Yujiro Hanma from Baki and his 0.5 Unconscious skill, which really confused me, I had to check again what "Death of the Author" was about again)
