Good idea, but it doesn't fit in.
The whole story is about this young boy going on a spiritual journey to find a way to bring peace towards the different clans who are at war with each other that could lead to their extinction. It's supposed to give this whole Native American vibe in a fictional world like the Neverending Story (First Movie).

Well that is the thing. The clans include all species of the animal. The Avian Clans have Falcons, Hawks, Owls, and even Humming Birds. I am still working on clan names as you can tell about and the only that separate wolf clan and dog clan is that wolf clan are more aggressive and noble.
A snake clan? 🥴 (I hate snakes and spiders)... But I can see that working very well. But shall it be a reptile clan or an individual clan? I could do a snake clan vs crocodile clan battle.
i can include prehistorical manmals. However, the Sabertooth Tiger would most likely be part of the cat clan since it is still a cat.
I'm gonna assume you didn't read it all the way cause I mentioned no underwater animals to avoid confusion with fishmen.
I'm working on a book series and in this series are a race call Therians who have the abilities to transform into specific types of animals of their clan. For example, if you were from the Avian clan than you can turn into an eagle (but it is more of a permanent choice. Like all you can transform into is an eagle).
So far I have Cats, Bears, Foxes, Dogs, Wolves, Avians, Coyotes, Boars, Amphibians, and Rabbits. What other three ferocious animals I can go for?
The conditions is this. Any animal on the list can be easily replace with the animal you suggest (the only animal that is excuse from this is Avians as the main character is part of the Avian Clan). No underwater animals and creatures (reasons is because in the same world with Therians, there are other races including Fishmen and Merfolk. So I don't want any confusion between Therians and Fish-men). It must be a normal animal meaning no mythical beast such as dragons, unicorns, or griffins.

But isn't the memories with someone in the past an attachment of itself. For example, let say you were teacher to a student and in the next life he became your teacher. Before you knew it, he died to and accident.
