So something keeps bugging me when it comes to combat with fire and that is that when the combatants infuse fire with their fists and punch how does that make the punch do more damage? I'm not talking about when they punch and create an explosion from the punch I'm talking about just regular punches with nothing more to them than just fire being present. It makes absolutely no sense to me, if someone can explain it would mean a lot.

Honestly yeah. If you have a character in one story who is super strong and that's his power and then you wanna kinda reuse that character in a cyberpunk setting, have them have robot arms or something, make choices that both relate to the character and their setting.
Maybe not always the powers but more of the characters, like if you wrote a superhero story with a character who shoots fire, and then go on to write a story set in a cyberpunk setting you can't really have them have the same powers. Character personalities however can be used in different mediums
I've been trying to develop a character recently and I know how I want the character to be but i'm not sure of the powers and weaknesses to give him.
He is essentially a brute force fighter mainly punching his way through situations due to his ridiculous strength, but that is where the issue for me arrives.
I want him to be a character who isn't just stuck at a base strength either, but can instead become more powerful by drawing upon something to do so. That in turn can help me to develop his weaknesses and so on, but I have no idea which power to give him none of the ones I've found really do it for me. I'm sure there is one or two out there I've missed but I've gone through the basic ones like Anger Empowerment and such but I feel like those are overused nowadays and want to try something different.

@Altair Alexios so would it be some sort of weapon creation? I played Destiny and when running the Golden Gun without having a hand cannon equipped it magically summoned the weapon, if you have one it infuses the power into that weapon. That's the part i'm confused over.
I have a question about a power from the game Destiny. What power would the Golden Gun super ability be labeled under?
@Apollo Percival Morningstar003 y'know I was dancing with your idea all day today and it actually kinda makes sense with the story I aim to tell with this character. The character in question was a man who was obsessed with destruction and always raged and was an antihero at best, after he experiences illusions of what he believes to be enemies he goes on a bloodthirsty rampage just as he had normally done and slaughters all of the enemies. This time however was different because once the illusion is killed he sees that he had instead killed his own allies and decides to takes his own life, he arrives in this universe's Underworld and is confronted by the right hand man of one of the Gods in the story and tells him that though his perception was altered his actions were his own and that he would be cursed with immortality along with the physical form of his destructive nature and rage filled desires which is the cursed symbiote power you suggested, and basically he has to try to be better as a human while having a destructive force urk him. Essentially long story short imagine GoW4 Kratos having a symbiote that is similar to GoW1-3 Kratos. How does that story sound to you? Feel free to leave any suggestions to make this even better.
@Apollo Percival Morningstar003 oh you mean like something similar to Prototype (well in terms of looks that is). What would be good weaknesses for that power? Some unique ones like how Venon (Marvel) gets weakened by fire and sound.

So I asked for help to look for a super power to give a character yesterday for a story im coming up with and I was given some good suggestions. I have thought about how I want this character to be and I think I boiled some key points down for his character
I want him too
* Be a brawler type character who's power will mainly be used in hand to hand combat scenarios with limited range capabilities
* Be a darker character in terms of personality and I want his power to reflect that
* Be able to use his power to enhance his speed and to deal heavy hitting blows
I don't want him too
* Have a pyrokinetic ability, I see this as a common trope for darker/tragic characters and it feels boring to me
* Have an intangibility power such as elemental mimicry, energy mimicry, etc
I know this sounds like a big list of specifics but I'm getting tired of trying to cram so many things into my head for one single character. I would really appreciate the help

I've just been looking for other flashy powers on the wiki (i just really like anime battles tbh lol so that's why these powers stand out more for me), but it gets really jumbling when I think of potential powers. I mean what other flashy abilities do demon brawlers use? lmao. I may need to make your suggestions as a single set if that wasn't already what your intention was with your list. A character whos style of combat I like is Bakugou Katsuki from My Hero Academia where he combines speed and power using a single ability and is flashy as an added bonus. Are there any powers that offer that potential style without being just a copy and pasted powerset?

So I've been thinking of a character who has roamed the world for hundreds of years due to him being cursed after he was reborn as a demon. He is a fighter, he is a cold person, he is the silent type. What sort of power can I give to a character like him. I imagine him like a warrior who engages in melee combat mainly and likes to brute force his way in battles. I had thought fire manipulation initially but that has been done hundreds of times already and I'm hitting a wall on what to give him as an ability. Please help.

There has been a question that has been bugging me since I was thinking about the many different super powers there are, and one really stood out to me. When characters have the ability to transform into different types of matter i.e. Smoke, Vapor, Fire, Water, Lightning, etc do they need to breathe? How would that even work? I want to hear what the people on here think about this because when you transform from head to toe from your typical body into lets say water for example would breathing even be something to worry about or do you just hold your breath until you revert back?
I had thought of plasma manipulation but I decided against it, neon too
