Merry christmas!
I swear to god if I get Notorious B.I.G or some shit 😭
I pick stands, not for any particular reasons besides from the fact I love JJBA and think it'd be cool to get a stand.
Random Stand, not cause I think its better, I just love Jojos.
Would be real upset if I ended up with Survivor or Fun, Fun, Fun.
(January will probably work decently enough, since most of the holidays before then will be done, so we'll be less busy.)
JJBA, cause uh, I'm a big fan lol.
Thanks!
Went a little more lighthearted with my first OC, so figured I'd make a darker second one. Not sure if I'll make any others besides these two, yet.
Name: Zechariah Wilhelm Mordred
Appearance:
Age:31
Species:Vampire Elf
Gender:Male
Personality: Zechariah is a deeply solitary man, and distrustful of others to boot. He's rarely found socialising - at least by his own volition - and when he is socialising, he appears uninterested at best, and often he can appear even hostile. This isn't to say he hates the world or all people, merely that he can take a long time to warm to others, though even when he warms to others it can be hard to notice, since he rarely expresses emotion to others. Another key part of his personality would be his determination to get revenge, as thats the primary motivation for all of his actions.
Pronouns: He/Him
Sexuality: Homosexual
Magic/Ability:
[Spirit Manifestation]
Using this magic Zechariah is able to manifest mainly two spirits, those being of his ancestors. They both retain their personality from before their death, but have yet to reveal their names to Zechariah. They both appear to grow in strength alongside Zechariah. One appears to be male in voice, and focuses on defending Zechariah, so his defensive properties and stamina reflects that purpose, he calls himself Lock. Another appears to be female in voice, and instead focuses on attacking the enemies of Zechariah, and her attacking power and speed are both notable. She calls herself Key.
(Lock is the one on the left, while Key is the one on the right.)
Weapons/Paraphernalia: He primarily wields a regular crossbow when in combat, mainly to assist his spirits from a range, and to defend himself if it comes to a situation where his spirits are missing, or have been defeated. He's decently skilled in using it, since he's been using it for a while.
He also wields a rapier for when enemies get too close for him to reliably use his crossbow, he's a bit less skilled using this, but that's not to say his swordsmanship is sloppy, it's just that he prefers to fight using his crossbow.
Weaknesses:
His Enhanced Hearing on account of his vampirism can be used against him, as loud or uncomfortable sounds can cause damage to his ears, and distract him.
His spirits can technically reject him, though they rarely do as such.
He needs to sacrifice a large amount of mana to make his spirits corporeal and to give them a psuedo-body.
When his spirits have a psuedo-body, they also are susceptible to physical attacks while being vulnerable to magic attacks.
His spirits can't possess others, and if he dies, they do too.
Backstory: Zechariah was born to a fairly normal family of elves, and didn't always isolate himself from others so much, that was until - when he was the age of 9 - he was infected with Vampirism. This wasn't the worst thing, though, his family accepted him and he continued on in life. The worst thing that happened was when he was 11, and someone who came into his village found out he was a Vampire, after this the man - disgusted by the fact that there was a vampire near him - proceeded to use his magic to light Zechariah aflame, this didn't kill him, but resulted in his body to be covered all over in burn marks. This could've been worse, the scars didn't hurt too much after a while.
But that was only the physical after-effects, the mental ones? They were much, much worse. He became distrustful of practically everyone not in his immediate family, and he often spent days isolated in his room. What was he doing in his room? That was training magic. He was hellbent on getting some sort of vengeance against the man who set him on fire, and so he began to train magic, while he didn't have a formal teacher, he learned decently by himself, and ended up conjured two of his Ancestors in the form of Ghosts, they felt pity, and decided to protect Zechariah from that point on. Recently, he's decided the only way for him to get stronger was to train under an actual teacher, so he's left to join a school, one of the finest ones for aspiring mages. His family were hesitant to let him leave, but could tell they couldn't really stop him. And so he departed, determined to get stronger.
Extra Info(Optional):
He stands at 5'6.
He's fairly muscular under the bandages he wears, since he trains extensively physically, too.
He has a very raspy, deep and gravelly voice due to smoke inhalation when he was set aflame, it sounds almost like it hurts for him to force out his words.
Anyone who would use telepathy to view his surface thoughts would likely see him recalling him being set aflame and being in utter agony over and over again.
He's considering learning a new type of magic to support him or his spirits, possibly Healing Magic or a form of Physical Enhancement Magic.
And would attacks from his ghosts count as magic when they are in their psuedo-body, so be able to affect other ghosts?
Would his magic be called something like Spirit Manifestation @MagnoliaHemlock ?
Hmm, got it. He's gonna be mainly leaving fighting to them, so him having to sacrifice a lot of his mana so they can fight is okay with me.
Ooh, perhaps yeah, two of his Elf Ancestors who took it upon themselves to protect him after he became a Vampire, since I plan a part of his backstory to be that he was burnt by someone badly since they were prejudiced against vampires, so he has burn scars all over his body, which he covers with bandages.
Hmm, maybe a form of Summoning Magic? Basically, he can summon two spirits as familiars, these spirits grow in strength alongside him and have unique strengths, one having impressive speed and strength, while the other has high stamina and defense. Think I'd name them Lock (the Defensive one) and Key (the Offensive one). Also got an image for them.
Alright. Also, what's the state of Gods and stuff? I may give him some variation of 'Holy' Magic, like a Cleric from DnD.
Alright, do they have any particular weaknesses or strengths?
Thank you! Also, how does Vampirism work? I'm considering making a second character who is an Elf Vampire.
Name: Sascha Einz
Appearance:
Age: 38
Species: Demon
Gender: Male
Personality: Sascha is.. interesting. He's eccentric, in one word, while he's extroverted, friendly might not quite be the right word, since his behaviour often never results in friends. He's quick to insult others - though he often doesn't mean out - and to make jokes at the expense of others, this behaviour often gets him in trouble, or at least getting him the ire of others, or making them think he's annoying. He's also fairly cocky, and acts as if nothing and no-one can harm him, which ends up in him often pushing things too far and getting hit. This isn't to say he is dumb, he has a decent level of intelligence, and often gets his enemy riled up to get them to agree to his bets. At least, he's often found annoying and irritating by others due to his sarcastic personality. He often also drinks randomly and in public, even if it would be inappropriate in the situation.
Pronouns: He/Him
Sexuality: Pansexual
Magic/Ability:
[Gambling Magic]
This magic type, passed down by his family, allows him to gamble beyond regular capabilities. It allows Sascha to 'bet' on things beyond money or items, but attributes such as strength, speed, mana, or even spells. It also allows for him to buff himself via doing something such as flipping a coin, if he correctly guesses the side the coin ends up on, he'd double in an attribute he picks, if he fails, though, his enemy will instead double in that attribute.
It also allows for him to 'borrow' things too, as many gamblers end up doing. He can borrow abstract attributes, like the ones he can bet on. He can borrow them for a while, up to 3 days, but must pay 30% interest right off the bat, so he'd need to give someone 30% more of the attribute he borrows. If he borrows for longer, the interest increases by 5%, so by day 10 it'd be 65% interest.
He's also gained two spells up to this point via his Gambling, those being Water Jet, a Water spell allowing for him to shoot out a higher pressure jet of water that can push back or wind an enemy, and Fire Bolt, a high-speed, but small, bolt of flame.
Weapons/Paraphernalia: Drifting Sword - A sword passed down in Sascha's family (as is his type of Magic), it is regularly completely stone, except when drawn with the person who draws it saying 'Roll', then it'll randomly pick out of one of Four Elements, those being Fire, Earth, Water and Wind. Then it'll harness that element and let him partially use it for up to 15 minutes, afterwards the blade returns to stone and can't be used for 6 hours. It uses runes on the inside of the stone sheathe to do this, and they sometimes need to be re-done.
While this isn't too relevant, he also often carries a drinking horn filled with alcohol.
Weaknesses:
If he were to make a coin flip to increase his own strength, or something of the sort, he'd have to see the result for it to take affect.
He can easily lose power based on how his bets work, so his actual levels of power can change rapidly in short amounts of time.
He can't guarantee his bets will end good for him, so his magic can be a weakness as well as a strength for him.
Backstory: Sascha was born to a long line of demon mages - no surprise there - and was the eldest son of his family, he was trained as such, but he often neglected this training and would slack off. Never the less, he was fairly decent when it came to magic, his family - however - was strict, they were rich and had a reputation to uphold, after all, so his behaviour was fairly shameful, since he spent most of his days in a bar. Still, they endured how he acted, that is until the 'fateful day'.
So, as he tended to be, he was in a bar, enjoying drinks and the presence of beautiful people around him, until at a certain point, he picked a fight with another Demon.. who proceeded to easily defeat him in a fight, and then he learned that this Demon was another child of a rich family, one that was even wealthier than his own. So their solution? Kick Sascha out and never speak to him again. He took his family heirloom, that of the Drifting Sword, with him, but they didn't argue too much.
Since then, his funds have dwindled to the point of being nearly non-existent, so his solution has been to join Verdant Arcanum Institution, and to become a great mage who could rival any other - and gain lots of money on the way.
Extra Info(Optional):
He stand around 6'3, and is rather lanky.
He lost his only horn in an accident as a kid, leaving a small black stump on the left side of his forehead.
Ah, his family is gonna be alright, my character himself is gonna be a bit of an asshole, but not like an incredibly evil person.
Sure, that'd work.
Do Demons have nobles? I'm considering having my character (Sascha) be basically the eldest son who was kicked out of his noble family for bringing shame to them, and thats why he's attending the academy, so he can become a rich and powerful mage to basically laugh at his family who kicked him out.
