As an archetype, a court scientist is a scientist who works for or serves a royal family (or any other main government body). Primarily these scientists provide scientific advice and services as chancellors of the King, Queen etc., giving general wisdom in political and country level situations. Most of these types of scientists are goodly beings only working towards the betterment of the realm they charged to serve and protect alongside the ruler of that realm. However, there are also evil scientists who get into these upper-level positions and use them for their own power-seeking agendas.
