Also Called[]

  • Demon Abomination
  • Demonic Beast/Creature/Entity
  • Demonic-Eldritch Body/Condition/State
  • Demonic Ungodly Horror
  • Hellish Abomination
  • Hellish Infernal Horror

Properties[]

The users of this power are demons, horrifying and destructive, even by human understanding. The elder demon comes off as infinitely more horrific and Satanic, even by typical demon nature. Such demonic beings are thought to be "abominable," even by their species' outright chaotically evil standard; their maligned physiological semblance are considered so foreign in nature and attitude that none, not even members of the celestial/infernal set can survive, much less withstand prolonged exposure to such monstrosities. Often spiritual in nature, their true forms can range from any manner of anatomic deformities which make no sense to even the omniscient. Features can include thousands of eyes, copious amounts of coils/tentacles, multiple stubby limbs or none at all, faceless features, tails and entrails decorating their viscera. They are completely otherworldly in nature, despite not actually being eldritch in nature. To most extents, many are perceived as cephalopodic or ethereal in nature; said spirits are often wreathed in infernal smoke or other hellish materials.

Many amongst them lack the critical parts of a "functional" flesh and blood sentient being many tend to possess and/or remotely operate oddly maligned elemental masses in the lower planes. They often hoard and amalgamate fauna, vegetable, fungal or mineral compositions to better interact with the earthly realm. They tend to look like gory, horrifying composites of living and inanimate viscera, often comprising multiple heads, torsos, organs and other assorted appendages of different creatures and/or elements that makes them so bizarre as well as horrific to the perceptions of lesser beings. Demons of this nature would often speak in such a manner that it would shatter those who are addressed. The dialect is so alien, so utterly derisive and profane, the recipients' brains would dissolve and leak out their ears and eyes; their tongues would melt or explode within their heads and other assorted strange phenomena would cause the world around them to catch alight or viciously implode on itself. Such daemonic beings are considered most frightening and imposing to deal with, even by other higher-dimensional entities, in part to such a forsaken nature they possess. Their might and dynamism are on a whole other order of magnitude than that of typical demons. If they happen to be archdemons, then they are arguably more powerful than most demons and some hell lords or divinity due to a combination of unquantifiable capability, out worldly anatomy as well as disruptive take on existence around them. As with most stereotypical demons, most elder demons are cruel and reviled to an incredible degree, even by that of the concept of evil. But there are few exceptions to such a rule. wherein certain members of their enclave rise above their needlessly destructive impulses and become ascended. They turn away from the void and essentially becoming angelic in nature, if not form.

How this differs from demon mode lies in that this does not supplicate the process of demonic visage by force of will, much less demonic form pertaining to most demons and/or other unholy beings. The transformation is not as simple as acquiring their traits, such as demonic ugliness which takes on the hideousness of natural demons, let alone the wickedness of man. It is the amalgamation of this plus the pooling of all the unnatural prowess of both damnation and ethereal quintessence in all of its eldritch squalor. This creates absurdities who's very being disrupts the fabric of cosmological, if not multiversal totality in all its forms, completely throwing all the natural, supernatural and even preternatural laws that we know of out the window, alongside our prior knowledge of demonic influence, the scope of which their reach truly absconds remains, for the greater part, out of reach. This is due to the seemingly endless number of elder entities not specifically defined under demon or daemon categorization, be it physical, mental, relational or emotional affect and interaction-wise.

Flaws/Weaknesses[]

  • Angel/Divine Slayer
  • Archangels/Archdemons
    • This will vary between archangels or archdemons and if they are more powerful then the Demonic abomination in question who could also be an archdevil or ascended archdemon who denigrated into an heavenliness.
  • Supreme Beings
    • As the creator of hells this type of demon hails from wouldn't stand a chance against them.

Notes[]

While this depiction isn't universal in lore of eldritch horror, many of the outer gods and other such eldritch beings were often synonymized with the term demon in relative literature. There being a sparse few effigies of which that are often closely associated with popular religious lore. The term, "Black Speech" or speaking in tongues details from popular biblical anecdotes and serializations; be it from Hebrew, Christian or Muslim faiths. Often seen as tempters or corruptors who utilize their influence on their chosen hosts surroundings to cede their mortality and their very souls unto them. One such individual is Legion from the Gospel of Mark which retails the account of the possession of a nameless man who was exorcised by the son of the lord, Jesus Christ. The formers body became a frightening twisted iteration of the flesh while under The Many's thrall, proboscises with functioning anatomy everywhere. Something that would set the trend for possessive immaterial creatures for generations to come.
