The character is a doppelgänger. Technique of Doppelgänger Manipulation. Variation of Mythic Physiology and Shapeshifter. Not to be confused with Mimic Physiology and Clone.

Also Called[]

  • Body Double
  • Imposter
  • Shapeshifter

Properties[]

The character is a doppelgänger; generally a biologically unrelated look-alike, or a double, of another person.

Universe Differences[]

In fiction and mythology, a doppelgänger is often portrayed as a ghostly or paranormal phenomenon and usually seen as a harbinger of bad luck. Other traditions and stories equate a doppelgänger with an evil twin.

Doppelgängers are often different depending on the media, depicted as shapeshifters in Rosario + Vampire and Dungeons & Dragons, or clones in other contexts.

Associated Powers[]

  • Doppelgänger Manipulation
  • Doppelgänger Morphing
    • Action Replication: The user can sense/perceive and then mimic actions, feats and stunts done by others, whether in fiction or not.
    • Adoptive Muscle Memory: The user can copy any/all movements/actions after observing it performed once, including acrobatics, martial arts, and other physical stunts.
    • DNA Replication: Can replicate DNA to mimic that of others, allowing them to use any skills, powers, and/or knowledge that may be stored within the genetic code.
    • Skill Replication: Able to mimic and replicate the skills and talents of others around oneself, and be able to use those skills and talents as one's own.
    • Species-Shifting: Switch from one species to another, as well as shift from one species-based power to another.
    • Vocal Replication: The user is able to mimic the voices of others or imitate sounds such as animal noises and explosions.
  • Perfect Doppelgänger
    • Ability Imprinting: Copy other abilities/powers and then imprint them into themselves or others, allowing them to make the powers a natural part of them.
      • Ability Intuition: Can see any ability at work, intuitively understand how it works, how to control it, and how to master it.
      • Ability Mastering: Mastered the ability in question, not just being proficient in its usage, but also understood every concept and possibility available.
    • Instilled Knowledge: Can instill and infuse vast amounts of knowledge into their mind by various means (supernatural, technological, etc.), rather than acquiring it through normal means such as study, experience, etc.
      • Knowledge Replication: Can gain/replicate any kind of knowledge, be it knowledge over a subject, a foreign language, or mastery of a fighting style.
      • Living Database: A living archive or database of knowledge, this basically makes them knowledge itself given physical form.
    • Morphamerge: Can merge with and change matter via shapeshifting.
      • Amalgamorphing: Can merge/shapeshift with other shapeshifters or into inanimate matter for forming larger/more complicated shifted forms.
      • Shifting: Share ability between themselves, allowing them to teleport objects between them, teleport to each other, and merge into one being.
    • Omni-Genetic Archiving: Able to archive the genetics of any and all sentient beings that contain genetic codes, whether that'll be mortals, gods, cosmic entities, entire worlds (planets, universes, multiverses), etc., and use it in various ways like to empower themselves, gain new abilities, replication, the re-creation of a species, or genetically enhance themselves and other beings.
      • Hive Genetics: Share any physical and mental abilities they possess with other members of their species.
      • Omni Identity: Have a complete identity and/or self of all people/beings/everyone that exists, could exist and/or will exist in a single body/form.
    • Self-Spawn: Can transform others into exact hive-minded duplicates of themselves, both physically and in persona.
      • Varied Replication: Create varied replicates of themselves, others and/or objects, whether the differences are purely in appearance (color/substance changes, shape, etc.), additional parts, or powers/abilities/functions.
      • Mind Hive: Have multiple minds (and/or possibly souls) in a single body. Like a Hive Mind, each part works autonomously and diligently, but that's where the similarities end.
    • Total Mimicry: Can mimic and replicate absolutely anything and everything that others are, can do or have access to.
      • Interior Mimicry: Can internally replicate everything about another person, allowing them to mimic everything about another person that is on the inside, while everything else, including outward appearance, stays the same. Meaning attributes, skills, emotions, the mind, the voice, anything that does not show on the outside of a person can be mimicked.
      • Internal System Mimicry: Mimic/replicate the internal anatomy and systems of others, including internal organs, organ placement, bone/skeletal structure, musculature, cells, biochemical responses/receptors, hormones, nervous system, circulatory system, pressure points, size, fat reserves/resources, and every other internal framework/structure that make that makes up another person/entities body.

Techniques[]

  • Alternate-Self Mimicry: Mimic another one of their alternate selves from other universes, timelines and dimensions in various ways, including powers, appearances, etc.
  • Shapeshifting/Omnifarious: Have the ability to change their form and appearance at will, maybe even transforming and reshaping themselves down to their genetic and cellular structure. They can impersonate others or enhance their own body for combat by turning into animals, humanoids, monsters, etc., or by making the body stronger. Suppose a user is powerful enough complete and absolute control over their being. In that case, it allows them to manipulate their shape, density, size, or be solid, liquid, gaseous, or pure energy. They can spread their form into smaller segments that keep their ability to transform and recombine as they wish. The user can take any form that they can imagine, independently from the laws of Physics and Logic. Immune to external alterations but can instantly change, rendering such efforts meaningless. Their mind remains immune to all external alterations. It is as flexible as its body while remaining whole and fully functional even if the body is separated into millions of smaller parts acting independently. While external/environmental effects can affect users, they can take a form more adapted to the dangers and thus ignore most dangers or reform themselves.

Relationships/Variations[]

  • Alternate Self
  • Clone: Can be a clone or copy of another being, being a genetic duplicate of the user, a robotic double, created through magical means, etc.
    • Cyber Clone
    • Modified Clone: Clone/copy of another being that has had some alterations done rather than being an exact copy of their genetic donor, often to make them superior to the original.
    • Robotic Clone
  • Evil Twin
