Properties[]

As an archetype, the earth mother is a mother goddess and an earth goddess which makes this type of goddess very powerful. Earth mothers are generally the second most powerful deities within their respected pantheons under that of the sky fathers and they are commonly featured in polytheistic religions, and will include characteristics of the mother goddess and mother nature type goddesses due to their elemental earthly powers, enabling them to possess all the powers of both types of goddesses.

In varying polytheistic religions there have also been a male version an earth mother, known as earth fathers, however due to their extremely small numbers they incredibly rare and haven't been seen that often. The most well-known Earth Father is the primordial god, Geb, and under him is the god Osiris from the Egyptian pantheon. It should also be noted that just because the male God in question is an earth god this doesn't mean they are an Earth Father.

Unlike Mother Nature, Earth Mothers powers are mainly earthly-based, while nature mothers are able to control the full spectrum of nature itself as their driving force. And in some cases the earth mothers and the nature mothers can be one and the same depending on their divine backgrounds.
