- ― 2 Timothy 4:1 (The Bible)

Properties[]
As an archetype, a judge of the dead reviews a newly deceased being's actions in life to determine where they deserve to end up in the afterlife. Once the judge passes their judgement, they will carry out their sentence upon the spirit that has been judged, sending them to heaven, hell, the underworld, the spirit plane or even to purgatory itself. Judges of the dead rarely change their minds once a sentence has been passed; however, it isn't uncommon for them to do so.
Judges of the dead were present in mythology and greatly feared whether that judge be of goodness or neutrality as they were never actually evil in nature.
