The archetype for the characters that possess or have traits of the light magician. Light version of The Magician. Not to be confused with just Benevolent Sorcerer or Lumomancer. Opposite to Dark Magician. Magical counterpart of Light Scientist.

Also Called[]

  • Magical Healer
  • Protector Mage
  • White/Light Sorcery
  • White/Light Sorcerer/Sorceress
  • White/Light Mage/Witch/Warlock/Wizard

Capabilities[]

As an archetype, the light magician is a type of benevolent sorcerer, a sorceress, witch or wizard, or even a supernatural being that represents or has studied the mystic arts and is usually naturally gifted with white magics, or learns them, or even just possesses white magics, and specializes in healing and protection-based powers and learns the mystic arts later. These types of magicians are considered somewhat powerful and in magical circles. Mostly, these types of sorcerers are always considered on the cusp of good or neutral; however, on rare occasions, this is not always the case.

These types of sorcerers are not the same of Lumomancers, as lumomancers are elemental sorcerers who conjure and manipulate light. However, it isn't uncommon for light magicians have possessed some light-based powers as well.

Unlike truly Benevolent Sorcerers, light magicians are not always good or simply just naturally possess white magics. However, these types of white magic users can become benevolent sorcerers if they stay on the path. Some have even become evil by switching over to or even using dark magics, losing themselves within it at great cost. These mages have even been known to come back from the dark arts and back into the white arts, abandoning their newly dark paths. Where truly benevolent sorcerers require even greater push to the dark arts and in most cases will not go that route unless in the most unique circumstances.
