As an archetype, a lunar deity is a god/goddess who represents the Moon, or an aspect of it, usually by its perceived power and strength. Lunar deities and moon worship can be found throughout most of recorded history in various forms.
Unlike lunar entities which are merely spirits and/or living entities of the moon, whereas lunar deities also known as “Moon Gods”, “Gods of the Moon” or personified/representations “embodiments” who are divine beings that possess divine/holy powers over the moon and all its aspects.
