― Professor Anthony Ives to Professor Tomek Ovadya Morah/T.O. Morrow (DC Comics)
"So much has been done — more, far more, will I achieve: treading in the steps already marked, I will pioneer a new way, explore unknown powers, and unfold to the world the deepest mysteries of creation..."
― Victor Frankenstein (Frankenstein's Monster)
"Perhaps I shall dissect him once things calm down."
― Sei Kai (Kingdom)
"Ah hah hah hah! They called me mad at the university...and they were right!"
― Crazy Scientist (Lego Minifigures Series 4)
"Call it research. Call it madness. Call it art—it's all the same to me: I must know more."
― Cornelius Evazan (Star Wars)

The power to use the archetypal traits of a mad scientist.

Also Called

  • Mad Alchemist
  • Mad Chemist
  • Mad Doctor/Psychologist
  • Mad Gadgeteer/Inventor
  • Mad Professor
  • Mad Sorcerer/Sorceress

Capabilities

The user is a Mad Scientist, a scientist that dabbles in pseudoscience or does unethical/crazy experiments. They often can do science that breaks the laws of physics/nature.

Applications

  • Biological Manipulation: The user can manipulate life on a cellular level, including but not limited to, genetic alterations and physical distortion and/or augmentations of biological functions.
  • Enhanced Adroitness: The user can precisely control their prehensile body parts, effectively manipulating any object, with grace, ease, strength, speed, precision, and skill.
  • Enhanced Inventing/Supernatural Inventing/Absolute Inventing: Invent scientifically complex machinery, electronics, devices, gadgetry, or weaponry.
  • Medical Intuition: The user has great, if not innate, medical knowledge, enabling them to easily treat others' injuries and create medicines.
  • Peak Human/Enhanced/Supernatural/Absolute Intelligence: The user has intelligence that is significantly above the standard genius-level intellect; possessing exceptional intellectual capabilities
  • Physics Defiance: Can defy any of the laws of physics, doing things such that they could not otherwise do as if the laws of physics were not there. from ignoring energy to ignoring the laws of motion.
  • Pseudoscience Manipulation: Manipulate a form of "science" that cheats the scientific method.
  • Science Intuition: Has extraordinary skills with the study and utilization of the field of science to produce mass inventions, conduct experimentation, and perform accurate calculations.
    • Chemical Intuition: Can intuitively understand all types and forms of chemicals and chemistry.
    • Genetics Intuition: The user possesses an incredible and innate understanding/knowledge of genetics.
    • Mechanical Intuition: The user can intuitively understand the operation of any mechanical device and subconsciously/effortlessly create a schematic in their mind.
    • Robotics Intuition: The user is intuitively in the field of robotic engineering. This includes mechanical as well as electronic engineering as they pertain to the study of robotics and/or cybernetic implementation.
    • Virology Intuition
  • Science Manipulation: The user can manipulate the laws of nature/science through a mundane method that manipulates reality to whatever effect they desire which can be interpreted as "super-science".
  • Supernatural Surgery: The user can perform supernatural surgery, augmenting physiology/powers, and possibly even give new powers/abilities. They can treat incurable diseases/ailments and reanimate/resurrect the dead.
    • Brain Removal: The user can remove the brains (including only individual sections of the brain (the frontal lobe, motor cortex, occipital lobe, etc.) of oneself or others, usually resulting in the target's death.
    • Body Modification: The user can change and modify the bodies of oneself and others down to the genetic level, enhancing physical capabilities, modify it to be able to use certain powers, etc.
    • Body Part Substitution: The user can replace parts of their body with same organs from outside sources, gaining the powers they'd had before the connecting, such as an eye with night vision would give the ability to see in the dark, a hand taken from a plasma blaster could allow them to fire plasma blasts from that hand.
    • Stitching: The users can cause anything on their target to be "stitched" up/together, with applications attaching things to one another, reattaching limbs, binding things to any surface, closing wounds, etc.
    • Subsuming Transplantation: The user can overlay the limbs, organs, genetic traits of others while reordering their genetic makeup for easier assimilation, eliminating the fear of organ failure and biophysical rejection from donated body parts altogether.

Associations

  • Chemical Magic: The user can utilize a form of magic that involves Chemistry, allowing for harnessing their magical energies and/or mystical control of their aspects.
    • Potion Creation: The user can create potions: substances with magical properties such as enhancing physical and mental abilities, healing, granting powers, changing shape, or bewitching someone depending on the kind of potion that is made.
  • Forbidden Knowledge: The user is in possession of a dark and forbidden form of knowledge that was never meant for mortals to know. This kind of information can range from being scientific, magical, or eldritch in nature and can give the user access to abilities and capabilities far beyond human comprehension, not unlike the knowledge bestowed upon the user.
  • Science-Magic Manipulation: The user can manipulate science and magic, how they interact/go together, how compatible they are, the results of science and magic going together, from how the technology works with magic and how chemicals are altered by magic, etc.
