The archetype of a character who is a musketeer. Variation of Soldier.

Also Called[]

  • French Pre-Revolutionary Calvary
  • Mousquetaire

Properties[]

Originally, musketeer was used to refer to someone who wields a musket. They were a type of soldier that became popular across Europe during the early modern eras. They can also be found in China and India. However, the definition has since then shifted to mean a gentleman in one of the two companies of the royal household cavalry in pre-revolutionary France. They rode horses and were proficient fencers. Because muskets were clumsy and were difficult to reload, the musket was dropped during this era, but the name stuck.
