"I'd ask you to sit down, but, you're not going to anyway. And don't worry about the vase.
"What vase?"
(Neo turns to look for a vase, and as he does, he knocks over a vase of flowers, which shatters on the floor)
"That vase."
"I'm sorry..."
"I said don't worry about it. I'll get one of my kids to fix it."
"How did you know?"
"Ohh, what's really going to bake your noodle later on is, would you still have broken it if I hadn't said anything?"
― The Oracle and Neo (The Matrix)
"The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches... born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies... and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not... and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives... the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies..."
― Sybil Trelawny's first prophecy (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix)

  • Seeress (Women only)
  • Vǫlva/Völva/Völfa (Women only)

Properties[]

The archetype is a seer, an individual who can see things hidden from others and also has the ability to predict the future or speak for the gods. There are also a small variation of seers known as clairvoyants, prophets, oracles, or diviners

A seer usually acts as a guide, whether it be for good or evil depends on the user in question. Seers also have special knowledge of the divine or supernatural realms and some receive special wisdom, power or understanding from deities or spirits. Seers are individuals closest to what one would call the "absolute truth" of the world. The abilities of each seer will vary as well as the cost, if there is any, for their gift.
