"My dad is a murderer...And I...am an accomplice."
― Jin Seon on father, Dongsoo Seon (Bastard)
"They called me a serial killer. I traveled around, hunting. Killed eight people. They even talked about me on TV! I was a real celebrity!"
― Shrieker (Bleach)

The archetype of serial killers.

Also Called[]

  • Serial Murderer

Properties[]

User is a serial killer: a killer that commits a series of murders, often with no apparent motive and typically following a pattern of behaviors. They have a compulsive need to systematically hunt down individuals that fall under their specifications. They are proficient killers who know the best way of killing a target. They can scout opportunities and take advantage of them. They are also great at masking themselves and blending in with society.

Applications[]

Associations[]

Variations[]

  • Psychopaths
    • More commonly, serial killers can be psychopaths, being really intelligent, sadistic, violent/wrathful, highly manipulative, calculating, apathetic, unapologetic, ruthless, and remorseless in their actions, and can blend into society more effectively.
  • Sociopaths
    • Some serial killers could be sociopaths, individuals that have a ruthless, cruel, violent/wrathful, impulsive, irresponsible, and a manipulative persona, though they are limited empathy towards certain individuals, and this arguably makes them more dangerous than a psychopath. As a result, they could form friendships/relationships with others, with them not knowing what sort of people they are.
  • Slasher Villain
    • A supernatural killer that kills without discrimination and with no pattern or cause; more align with killers of fantastical traits and abilities rather than the more grounded serial killers we see in real life.
  • Yandere
    • A variation of the serial killer. These characters are highly obsessed with a love interest and would commit extreme acts, up to and including homicide, for the sake of securing said love interest.

Flaws/Weaknesses[]

  • Users can be eventually identified, tracked, and captured due to the predictable nature of their patterns and behaviors (note only applies to "traditional" serial-killers)
  • Most serial killers are narcissistic, cruel and attention-seeking thus often toy with others, which can easily lead to them underestimating an opponent or falling prey to a smarter mind - who can track them due to their behaviors.
  • Some serial killers are suffering from severe mental disorders and thus cannot control their urge to kill, these kinds of killers suffer a near-feral mind and may even devolve into true insanity - where they no longer try to hide their crimes.
  • Even among criminal society serial-killers are deeply shunned, feared, and hated - so finding allies is very difficult, often once exposed a serial-killer becomes a complete social pariah and a "wanted man/woman" (to the point other criminals may try and kill them)
  • Many are also deeply scornful of a group or society as whole (for example many male serial-killers are misogynistic, some are also misanthropic) - as a result they have extreme difficulty in situations where they have to work with those they deem "beneath" them or hold back their "instinct" to kill. (In other words, serial-killers do NOT "play well with others". unless on their own terms)
