The archetype for characters who possess traits of or are shadow being. Archetype of Spirit Physiology. Variation of Darkling Physiology. Combination of Elemental Spirit and Nocturnal Spirit. Not to be confused with just Dark Entity.

Properties[]

As an archetype, a shadow being is a shadow spirit made of darkness/shadow as a living, humanoid figure, and interpreted as the presence of a spirit/ghost or other entity by believers in the paranormal or supernatural. Shadow beings themselves are still a mystery to us as well as their exact spiritual nature and their purpose here on the plane of the living.

Unlike dark entities who can be composed of flesh or energy, shadow beings are always spiritual entities similar to ghosts.
