A user with this ability either is or can transform into a spiritual abomination, beings who are amongst the scariest of spirits to ever be imagined, taking on all kinds of forms. This type of spiritual form can be/or is possessed by spirits like dybbuks, ghosts, poltergeists, and wraiths, ranging from visually unusually wrapped awe-inspiring features, undead/rotted, monstrous, demonic, to even mind-shatteringly terrifying forms beyond human understanding.
Unlike ghost monsters or mutated ghosts who are monstrous or have possessed certain mutations when they were alive they changed them as ghosts or actives after death, whereas spiritual abominations can possess a variety of different appearances that can come from a number of different circumstances that the spirit went through in there living life, tramua where they died, from being in the spirit world, shapeshifting or even induced through some form of sorcery or necromancy.
