The archetype of a deity whose power surpasses all the other gods in scope. Variation of Deity. The characters with this archetype may also possess the archetypes of Supreme Deity, Old God and/or Primordial Deity.

Also Called[]

  • Ancient God
  • Grand-High God/Goddess
  • Overdeity/Overgod/Overgoddess
  • Primordial/Supreme/Almighty Power
  • Super-God/Super-Goddess
  • Uber-Deity/Uber-God/Uber-Goddess

Properties[]

The user is or possesses the properties of a transcendent god, an entity whose power totally surpasses the capabilities of all other deities.

In some cases, the user can be a Chief God, a deity who occupies the position of leader and ruler of the pantheon, or in other cases, the user can be an entity even more powerful than all the gods that exist, including the Chief Gods and their subordinates. In this type of representation, it is common for the entity to be much older and more ancient than the current gods, manifesting itself as a primordial power that is incomprehensibly more powerful than the divine power used by “conventional gods”. Note that there may be cases where there are multiple users of this power, representing an entire group or even a pantheon that surpasses all other pantheons in scope.
