So, I’m writing a story, and randomly generated powers for my characters. One ended up with solid manipulation, which is already hard to write about without him being to powerful, but then I drew telekinesis. I don’t know a lot of characters with the power, so I looked into it, and it’s elemental manipulation that worries me. Control of the elements. I already have a character with fire powers. The most obvious thing to do would be for her to only be able to manipulate already existing elements, but that just gives her air powers, as well as earth powers. If anyone has any ideas on how to give telekinetic characters lots of powers, but not give them pretty much everything, share ideas.
With all due respect dude, just because a power/subject/object is overpowered, doesn't mean that the ability/individual lacks flaws. I made this point before in regards to the corrupt agenda of the TF2 Freakshow community, and I'll say it again; there's a big difference between an overpowered ability/object/subject, and a mary sue. Mary sues are notorious for being despised because, just to quote, how "unrealistic" they would be. The overpowered objects/abilities/subjects however, are overly powerful, but there is no guarantee that it/she/he has weaknesses. Both Nigh Omnipotence and Reality Warping for example, are overpowered, but they have weaknesses. Big difference.
