The user can transform subjects, including matter, energy, beings, powers, concepts, etc., into books. The subject can either be transformed completely, partially, permanently or temporarily depending on what level of power the user has, with some users being able to induce and reverse the effect at will.

- May require constant contact with the subject to prevent it from returning to its normal form.
- May require eye-contact, touch or some other action.
- May only be able to transform certain matter into book.
- Effects may be temporary or irreversible.
- Some targets may be immune.
- May be limited to only affecting specific types of subjects, such as matter.
- May not be able to turn the victim back to normal.
- Could have unwanted results if misused.
- Immutability/Transmutation Immunity prevents transformation.
- Absolute Restoration, Restoration, Flawless Restoration and Transmutation Reversal can undo the transmutation.
