A mode is a state that a a character (or their equipment) may enter to optimize the use of particular powers or the performance of particular tasks. Characters must be capable of Mode Switching to use modes. Mode switching may be accompanied by appearance alternation or changed form, and so modes allow varying degrees of Mimicry. Modes may also amplify aspects of a physiology or even activate latent aspects of a physiology, but they generally do not change a physiology from one to another.
