"A divided mind is an unfocused mind. A divided mind fractures walls and weakens stone. Many divided minds may destroy a city"
― Dak'kon (Planescape: Torment)
"Utsuro. Yoshida Shouyo. I’m both of those and neither at the same time. One that has lived within this body for so long, I’ve forgotten my very name. No, maybe I never had a name to begin with. I was only showered with endless insults and hostility. And the only name I remember is...Devil."
― Utsuro (Gintama)
"Odell didn’t create me. There is no light without shadow...no sun without moon. I was already buried deep inside of you, Khalil. Odell, he just weaponized all that ghetto pedigree anger, Black boy horror movie rage that you tried to hide by being the good running boy with the pretty smile."
― Painkiller to Khalil (Arrowverse/Black Lightning)

The ability to contain multiple sentient personalities within one's mind. Not to be confused with Gestalt Mind.

Capabilities[]

The user is subjected to multiple personalities, which can be evoked at variable times. Some personas may be passive or aggressive, some may have different powers.

The separate identity inhabiting the user's hosting body is attributed as a specific symbiotic like entity of psychiatric nature, all of them born original from unknown cause or event (possibly past trauma). In most cases, this identity can exist for an extended period in which the user may or may not have prior knowledge of the identity's existence.

It is apparent that while these personas all lookout for the original, a factor may present to have intents of over-writing and taking over as the original identity. (Also despite being Divided "identities/personalities" some of these "personalities" metioned here actually have actually have a consciousness of their own instead of the same user/person experiencing memory lapses/dissociation meaning that the user and the "personality(ties)" are 2 different entirely different people.

Applications (General)[]

Applications (Detailed)[]

  • Alien Mind: The user's mind differ greatly from what could be considered "normal" or "sane" by the standards of most living things. Possible suffering from severe mental problems. Giving them immunity to mental or dream based powers of all kinds. Powers such as Telepathy or Mind Control will at best, not work on the user, and at worst, backfire.
  • Alter Ego Manipulation: Create and manipulate alter egos and any abilities, skills, habits, thought processes, personalities, and other parameters based around them.
    • Alter Ego Creation: Create one or more alter egos and switch between them. Based on their created alter egos, they can create abilities, skills, habits, thought processes, personalities, and other parameters.
      • Ability Imprinting: Copy other abilities or powers and then imprint them into a alter ego, allowing the power to be a part of them naturally. Creating multiple personae gives them special talents.
      • Knowledge Replication: Gain or replicate any kind of knowledge, be it knowledge over a subject, a foreign language, or mastery of a fighting style. By creating a alter ego that has that said knowledge. Through Hypercompetence, the user can possess incredible skills in one, several, or in some cases, any possible field.
      • Power Replication: Mimic powers by imprinting them into a alter ego, gaining the ability to have different superpowers.
      • Split Personality Combat: Change multiple personalities to help in combat by switching between personalities, confusing the opponent by gaining different skills and abilities.
    • Specialized Personalities: Possesses multiple personalities in their mind that specialize in different areas. The user can swap between these personalities to give themselves advantages during different situations. Each personality contributes different areas of expertise that the others lack.
  • Inner Beings: Use the power of their inner being(s); an innate being that lies within the user that grants them great power.
    • Inner Power: The user can use the untapped power within their different persona's.
    • Power Union: Through combining oneself with one of their persona's the user can work at full power and potential.
    • Living Conduit Transformation: The user can use their personas to gain new or enhanced powers that transcend beyond their what they can do.
    • Soul-Bound Entity: Each persona is likely to have their own abilities and powers they grant to the user, but these depend on which part of the user's soul each creature represents as well as the abilities/power they already have.
  • Self-Hypnosis: Through self-hypnosis, a specialized technique where one can induce a hypnotic state upon themselves, the user can place themselves on Autopilot, allowing their multiple personalities to use their powers or unique physical and mental capabilities and knowledge.

Techniques[]

Associations[]

Limitations[]

  • Having both a good and evil personality can result in the user being unreliable to everyone.
  • Other personalities may take over the entire body permanently.
  • Might be hard to control.
  • Personas may battle for control of the body. However, if the user possesses Tactile Empathy to Telepathy, they should be capable of switching their personalities freely, thus binding them into regulation. In a similar scenario, if the user has Indomitable Will, he/she can overcome the alternate personas from controlling the user.
    • Personas may take over when there's a certain event or if the user is under extreme stress or emotion.
    • If the user is unconscious or asleep, the personas may show up to claim their body.
  • Fission Inducement/Aspect Expulsion can get bring the personality into existence but may come with a price if the personalities should get rid of the original they inhabited.
  • Unless they possess Sensory Scrying, the other personalities may not know what the original is doing.
