Capabilities[]

Users can use invocation; a magical ability that grants control over the targets (living or non-living) by using names or phrases to manipulate a person or the universe itself, their words provide them with control over who and what they desire to manipulate.

Invocation can be defined as a means of summoning any deity, spirit, ancestor, person, planetary/universal energy, element, or entity to communicate with, petitioning for manifestation, or offering sacrifice. Magical practitioners may also use an invocation to connect themselves with a deity as a form of worship and initiation into their mysteries.

Generally, invocation incorporates a recited passage that calls the spirit to the magician or witch. This can be a prayer, hymn, incantation, poem, or self-written invocation. Invocation can take many forms, from ecstatic dance rituals to silent meditation. Altogether, devotion creates a working relationship between the practitioner and the spirit, often marked by reciprocal benefits. The spirit is invited and welcomed into the life, home, and heart of the practitioner.

An invocation uses the magical properties of sound, sacred and magical words, and sacred names to align and harmonize the consciousness with spiritual forces.

Invocations are carefully composed. To attract a particular deity or spirit, the invocation must address their powers, virtues, and attributes and offer the proper praise. An invocation must be spoken and not thought silently; both breath and sound carry magical properties. All senses and faculties must be employed in an invocation.

Applications[]

Limitations[]

  • The user must know the name of the subject that they wish to affect; otherwise, they have no power over them.
  • The user may need to visualize the subject/need more details, if there are many with similar names.
  • Names used must be true names (even if the person is known or referred to by another name).
  • Beings from other universes or timelines are somewhat protected from this power.
  • Low-level users are limited on how many subjects they can control, mainly one at a time.
  • Disabling one's ability to speak can neutralize the spell, as they cannot speak out the person's name.
