Due to wanting to be as human as possible, Yogiri Takatou (Instant Death) constantly limits his state of being and power with gates that are locked around within his mind. Each gate (when unlocked) leads Yogiri to a new phase, and each phase greatly amplifies his power. The exact number of gates is currently unknown, but it's stated to be "several".

Users are able to manipulate their personal boundaries, transcendence, Hierarchy, and limitations, allowing them to transcend into any higher state of being by removing their natural limitations, weaknesses, and boundaries or closing them if the user has a desire for simplicity. These limitations, weaknesses, and boundaries could range from being physical, mental, spiritual, or even existential in nature.

With this power, users has countless choices at their disposal, being able to perform and achieve anything they wish at any time like resist negative effects (natural and supernatural), develop new abilities, correct their flaws, change their form, their mind, their nature, and even transcending all of their boundaries and limitations all at once, essentially opening new worlds of possibilities with each use, or closing them when users aspire to a simpler life. As the Witch of Miracles, Bernkastel (Umineko no Naku Koro ni) can rise and lower herself into the infinite layers of the Witch’s Domain at a rate she controls. Gaining more power and freedom as she goes up and restricting herself as she goes down.

Ishtar (I-O) exists in a hierarchy of infinite lower layers, and an uncountable number of higher layers which she is able to move up and down, moving into higher and lower forms of herself to increase and decrease in power and existence. This process can be repeated an almost endless number of times.

Featherine Augustus Aurora (Umineko no Naku Koro ni) can control her personal boundaries in whatever way she deems fit. Allowing her to achieve whatever she wishes.

Yakou Madara (Kajiri Kamui Kagura) can alter his own hierarchy of existence as he deems fit. Making it lower or higher to the point he could interact with and reach realms beyond dimensions such as The Throne and Singularity.

The Yatsukahagi (Kajiri Kamui Kagura) can alter their own hierarchy of existence as they choose, making it lower or higher as they manipulate the flow of their Taiji.
