  • Artillery Aptitude/Combat/Expertise/Intuition/Mastery
  • Enhanced Gunnery
  • Enhanced Artillerymanship
  • Expert/Master/Skilled Artilleryman
  • Hōjutsu (Art of Gunnery)

Capabilities[]

Users, either innately or through training, are masters of handling artillery — large weapons that fire munitions at a range far beyond those of regular small arms — allowing them to perform great feats and benefit in far ranged combat. Users are to have excellent bull-eyes aim on their target via ammunition.

Users are able to operate all forms of artillery, such as cannons, heavy rockets, and howitzers. They can create artillery as well as repair them, as well as possessing expert knowledge and handling them. Users have excellent intuition on trigger-initiated, hand-held, and hand-directed implements, especially with an extending bore, which thereby resembles the class of weapon in either form or concept.

Applications[]

Variations[]

  • Aircraft Artillery: A large-caliber gun mounted on an attack aircraft, this is typically found on a slow-flying gunship.
  • Autocannon: A large-caliber weapon that fires shells rapidly
    • Chain Gun
    • Revolver Cannon
    • Rotary Cannon: A large-caliber multiple-barreled automatic firearm that uses a Gatling-type rotating barrel assembly to deliver a sustained saturational direct fire at much greater rates of fire than single-barreled autocannons of the same caliber. Combination of Rotary Machine Gun Proficiency and Artillery Proficiency.
  • Ballista: An ancient missile weapon that launches either bolts or stones at a distant target. Combination of Crossbow Proficiency and Artillery Proficiency.
  • Cannon Proficiency
  • Catapult: An ancient ballistic device used to launch a projectile a great distance without the aid of gunpowder or other propellants – particularly various types of ancient and medieval siege engines.
    • Trebuchet: A type of catapult that uses a long arm to throw a projectile. It was a common powerful siege engine until the advent of gunpowder.
  • Coastal Artillery: A fixed-position weapon dedicated to defense of a particular location, usually a coast or harbor. Not needing to be mobile, coastal artillery used to be much larger than equivalent field artillery pieces, giving them longer range and more destructive power.
  • Field Artillery: A mobile weapon used to support armies in the field. Subcategories include:
    • Anti-Aircraft Artillery: A guns, usually mobile, designed for attacking aircraft by land and/or at sea. Some guns were suitable for the dual roles of anti-aircraft and anti-tank warfare.
    • Anti-Tank Artillery: A gun, usually mobile, designed primarily for direct fire to destroy armored fighting vehicles with heavy armor.
    • Anti-Tank Gun: A gun designed for direct fire to destroy tanks and other armored fighting vehicles.
    • Field Gun: Capable of long-range direct fires.
    • Gun-Howitzer: Capable of high or low-angle fire with a longer barrel.
    • Gun-Mortar: Typically breech-loaded, capable of high or low-angle fire with a longer barrel.
    • Howitzer: Capable of high-angle fire, it is most often employed for indirect-fire.
    • Infantry Support Gun: A directly support infantry units
    • Mortar: A typically muzzle-loaded, short-barreled, high-trajectory weapon designed primarily for an indirect-fire role.
    • Mountain Gun: A lightweight gun that can be disassembled and transported through difficult terrain.
    • Rocket Artillery: Launches rockets or missiles, instead of shot or shell.
    • Tank Gun: A large-caliber gun mounted on a tank or an assault gun to provide mobile direct fire.
  • Naval Artillery: A gun mounted on a warship to be used either against other naval vessels or to bombard coastal targets in support of ground forces.
  • Nuclear Artillery: An artillery which fires nuclear shells.
  • Railgun Proficiency
  • Railway Gun: A large-caliber weapon that is mounted on, transported by and fired from a specially-designed railway wagon.
  • Recoilless Gun: A type of lightweight artillery system or man-portable launcher that is designed to eject some form of countermass such as propellant gas from the rear of the weapon at the moment of firing, creating forward thrust that counteracts most of the weapon's recoil.
  • Siege Artillery: A large-caliber artillery that has limited mobility with indirect firing trajectory, which was used to bombard targets at long distances.

Associations[]

Limitations[]

  • May require a degree of training or exposure.
  • May take time to achieve mastery.
  • May be limited to certain types of artillery.
  • Heavy firepower and range may cause much collateral damage and friendly fire.
