The power to use the abilities of a genius loci. Variation of Spirit Physiology and Superpowered Location. A location and building variation to Tsukumogami Physiology.
Also Called[]
- Genii/Genius Locorum/Loci Mimicry
- Location Spectre/Spirit/Soul Physiology
Capabilities[]
The user either is or can transform into a genius loci (or a Genii Locorum for multiple users), or also known as a Soul/Spirit of a Place, are spiritual entities of locations like buildings (for example towers, houses, hotels, mansions, etc) cities, and at their most powerful, can range to an entire planet.
It's possible that most if not all spirits can be capable of becoming one depending on their skill of possession (mainly Absolute Possession), like spiritual demons to spiritual angels, transcendent ghosts to poltergeists, jinn, and possibly more. In terms of non-spiritual cases, this can range from curses, blessings, to even magic being infused with the building or location itself, causing either of them to also become this.
However, mainstream genius loci are to be souls that left their dying vessels (their physical bodies), and rather going to the afterlife to be judged, they through unknown reasons have instead, been tethered to the location/building itself, turning into a genius loci.
Additionally, they are also recognized to have the power to have superior yet godly skills in the field of psionics, like using its sub-power Psychic Warping, to control and shift the environments around them, causing supernatural anomalies within the buildings/locations they're tethered to telekinetically move things, and so on.
Some cases, it is possible to a genius loci to spread out its influence, either by following those unlucky enough to visit its "place" or manipulating events or people around them to draw more curiosity to its lodgings; it adds to its already dangerous prowess, allowing it to be increasingly encroaching.

Limitations[]
- Because genius loci are spirits, they could be vulnerable to users of Soul Destruction, Soul Mutilation, Absolute Erasure, Absolute Destruction, and among other powers that can possibly affect, harm, and/or demolish souls/spirits.
- Users of Purification to Omni-Purification, can not only purify them, but this can demolish the tether binding them to the location/building, causing them to finally and peacefully, be escorted to the afterlife as opposed to banishing them outright.
- If the genius loci in question were born from curses, blessings, or powerful magic, users of Blessing or Curse Removal, Magic Negation or Destruction can reverse the effects to the point of restoring the building/location.
- Those of exorcism might be able to forcefully banish and remove the spirit from the location depending on how skilled they are.
