Users can live without a head. A sub-power of Anatomical Liberation.
Also Called
- Decapitation
- Headlessness
Capability
Users are able to live with body separated from head. Some users have a body that can walk and act as though it had a head, others have a head that when removed still behaves normally. This ability is usually acquired through some form of Immortality. Heads may or may not re-grow.
Limitations
- This ability does not indicate whether or not it is painful to remove ones head
- It may take seconds, minutes, or hours to reattach head
- If the head were to become lost, the body may not be able to find it due to reduced motor skills.
Associations
- Users usually have some Psychokinesis ability in order to control their body from a distance. Most users have Immortality however some simply do not require their head.
- Users might be able to transplant head onto a new body or animatable object (like a scare crow, robot, remote control object, or anything that is lifeless but has move able parts, not an inanimate object rock or cuboard).
- By the same accord this can work in reverse, a body can work without a head and can put a Head like object (more than probably a pumpkin) to act as a head.
- May just be a gag in most stories: man loses head and the body blindly stubles around to find it again
Applications
- Projectile heads; This would allow heads to be duplicated to replace a head that is going to be destroyed.
- Head may be lifted high to see or hear something otherwise out of range
- Some can place heads on another body, including a robotic one, allow control of that body.
- See Body Part Substitution, Bionic Physiology, and Technology Manipulation for further info
