Also Called[]

Capabilities[]
The user either is or can transform into a hungry ghost, a type of ghost from Eastern folklore and Buddhist belief. Known as the Gaki in Japan, Egui in China and Preta in India, hungry ghosts are believed to be the souls of the gluttonous, greedy or selfish reincarnated as emaciated, walking revenants with engorged bellies, bony claws, needle-like hair and sometimes pencil-thin throats and/or pinhole-sized mouths, depending on the severity of their sins. Hungry ghosts reside in a ring of Hell that overlaps the plane of the living, meaning that hungry ghosts walk among us at all times but are invisible to the naked eye, watching us eat delicious food and unable to have any unless directly offered some.
Hungry ghosts are often cursed with a nagging, persistent hunger for something inedible, unobtainable, horrifying or sometimes, all of the above, what they crave and the severity of their hunger usually depends on their sins, the worst of people who become hungry ghosts will usually crave things like feces or corpses. The severity of one’s sins also determines how long one will stay as a hungry ghost until they eventually reincarnate. Other things that hungry ghosts are typically cursed with includes the constant regurgitation of hot flames, unbearable body odor, constant gastrointestinal distress and breath so terrible that it decomposes anything they breath on.
