A user with this ability either is or can transform into a Lampad. They are nymphs and minor goddesses who represent or are associated with the underworld and its environment. Lampades are common in mythology and were usually important among civilizations.

The known Lampades were the night companions of Hecate, the Greek goddess of witchcraft and crossroads. The nymphs were a gift from Zeus for Hecate's loyalty and her role in the Titanomachy. The Lampades were the Goddess's torch bearers and accompanied Hecate on her nighttime travels and haunting's. Some accounts tell of how the light of the Lampads' torches has the power to drive one to madness.
