Should a user of the Potaras (Dragon Ball series) be using a Transformation prior to the fusion, the resulting fused being will be permanently locked into said transformation, unable to power down...

...as was the case with Merged Zamasu, who is permanently locked in a Super Saiyan form because Goku Black, one of his fusees, was in his Super Saiyan Rosé form at the time of the fusion.
