The ability to gain magic from the creation and use of monolithic structures. Variation of Magic (usually Druidism).

Also Called[]

  • Mounds-Related/Monolithic-Related Commands/Spells
  • Standing Stones Magic

Capabilities[]

Users of this ability are capable of harnessing the powers of monolithic structures for magical means, often they are also able to create such structures (though these tend to be more advanced users, the lesser variants simply know how to harness power found in pre-existing structures).

Monolithic structures are large stone circles, burial mounds or abandoned forts from centuries gone by that are often natural places of power or are given power by gods, eldritch forces, fairies, giants or other supernatural beings - some of the legendary powers associated with such structures include astrological capabilities, time manipulation, ghostly communication and manifestation as well as a number of highly secretive rituals.

Depending on the site and the intent of the magic human and animal sacrifices may be made and many structures are built upon ley lines or have special meaning - for example certain stones may point towards specific stars or stellar phenomena and draw from them.

Care must be made when dealing with monolithic magic as these structures can easily be misidentified with the similar Fairy Forts, which will cause great wrath upon mortals who dare to disturb the fay within.

Associations[]

Limitations[]

  • Requires great effort to create monolithic structures (often in folklore and fantasy it requires the aid of supernatural entities).
  • Some structures may emit alien, eldritch energy and cause a danger to those nearby.
  • Destruction of the monolithic structures will severely damage the magic itself, may also cause destructive consequences due to angered spirits or gods.
  • Care must be taken not to disturb the similar Fairy Forts.
